Full of paradigm shifts. This book is a manuscript on how to live a life of peace and stillness and happiness. Easily relatable with examples throughout history and chocked full of paradigm shifts. I just finished reading but I already want to read it again.

The Essence of Zen and Non-Action in Bite-Sized Portions. I was very impressed with Ego is the Enemy and The Obstacle is the Way, so I had high expectations for this book. Holiday did not disappoint. I was able to pick this book up and put it back down many times without losing the general idea. I found the information on Tiger Woods’ lifestyle to be perhaps the most entertaining and informative. The pieces on Zen Buddhism, Wu-Wei, and Non Action were not only enlightening but therapeutic. In a world where we are constantly told to Go-Go-Go and do More-More-More, it is interesting to hear an argument for the opposite perspective. My favorite element of this book overall, is the way Ryan expertly weaves together so many different philosophies and religions to form a thought; convincing the reader further that there are many paths to Enlightenment. Thank you Ryan; I am big fan of your work and consider myself a more useful man, and a more peaceful and generally-better human for having read it... particularly your work in Stoicism. Thank you and your team again and again.

Stillness is the key. A great read for anyone trying to find that quiet place inside themselves to become a better person and more at peace in this crazy world. Ryan Holiday as a particular way of bridging generations of stoic (and other) philosophers together to help provide people today with an excellent blueprint for finding stillness in themselves for what ever type of life they’re living. Highly recommend any and all of his writing!
