Review: Cupids Anonymous. Cupids Anonymous by Lila Monroe is a standalone brand new romantic comedy about a modern day Cyrano and how she falls prey to her own machinations. Well-written and well-paced, told in dual POV, this sweet romance will have you laughing at the situations Poppy manages to get herself into and swooning when the guy finally realizes what is in front of him and goes for it! Poppy Hathaway is a modern day Cyrano de Bergerac. Writing love letters for her clients, staging romantic dates, and anything else that helps her clients get out of their own way and give love a chance. Her best customer (and also her worst) is frequent flier, Dylan Griffin. SHe helps him reel in the ladies and also helps him let them down easy. Dylan isn't one for longevity in a relationship but he is honest and open about it so no harm no foul. When Poppy's scheming on his behalf opens his eyes to what really matters to him when it comes to affairs of the heart can he manage to get out of his own way before he loses her? Loved this! Enjoy!

Lots of fun & lots of love. This is such a fun idea, hire someone to write the words you can’t quite say yourself. And Poppy has quite the knack at doing just that. Her most consistent and constant client, Dylan, hires her for everything, and what seems like all the girls. Somewhere along the way though, work turned into friendship, and hard as they try to fight it, a whole lot more. I totally loved their back and forth banter, the fun they had, his absolute charisma and her heart. And excellent read from Lila Monroe

They Get Each Other. What a fun filled story. So enjoyed the characters.

Great. Cute and funny with a little sexy. Doesn’t play on the damsel in distress like so many other romance novels, she doesn’t go chasing after him like a love sick puppy. Nice change of pace!

Cupid for Hire. A fun romcom that flows well with a writing style that suits the genre. The dialogue is well written and Poppy and Dylan’s relationship is funny and organic. How Dylan ended up responding to Poppy’s book stock criticism is such a small moment but full of nuance and ultimately my favorite part. However, there are several random double indentations and typos, a few things didn’t make sense, and Dylan’s story took a turn for the cliche toward the end, but overall this was still an enjoyable read. This book contains cursing, a heads-up for those averse. Given that Henry and Kelly are presumably a part of the community, as a gamer the immersion was broken pretty early when Henry calls it “virtual reality game” instead of VR or specifying a title, fictional or otherwise. Language is a telltale sign of whether someone is part of a community or not, something Poppy should know as a good writer, and made worse by the fact that it’s the first look readers get at Poppy’s work. Later the author appears to mistake Smash Bros, which is known for PvP, for Mario Bros, which aside from being super vague is more co-op. Dylan is supposedly a big smooth talker in his own right so it doesn’t make sense for him to hire Poppy prior to seeing Jasmine again. Because he’s described as wearing a fraying jacket and their first interaction is establishing that $200 for a bouquet is too expensive, how events are presented doesn’t really establish that the customer is cheating as opposed to being on a budget in a polyamorous relationship, making the flower shop incident a demonstration of quick judgment rather than principle on April and Poppy’s part. Continuity issue. Poppy wore jeans to her date with Chris but later said Dylan’s hands were under her dress. It’s weird that Poppy thinks Dylan and Jasmine are “effortlessly gorgeous” when she’s shown at every turn the work Jasmine puts into her body, knows that Dylan used to have a bowl cut and has a personal trainer, but then cries about not being able to “compete” in that area despite going out of her way to make it clear that she doesn’t put effort into her own. Considering her beliefs in “true love” it’s kind of contradictory for Poppy to also perceive love in terms of a competition, and for some unknown reason all the characters seem to think dating someone means adopting their dietary choices.

Loved. This was my first Lila Monroe book and I absolutely loved it. The story line was just so sweet I couldn’t help but follow it all the way through.

Modern day Cyrano. This is the first book in Lila Monroe’s Cupid series of RomComs. Poppy Hathaway is a modern day Cyrano de Bergerac. If you need help writing a love letter, a poem to win over your Lady love, Poppy is your girl. One of Poppy’s most frequent customers is Dylan Calloway, Billionaire Playboy hotelier. Normally Dylan is a quick fling kind of guy, but when he sees Jasmine, his high school crush, he enlists Poppy to help win her over. While Poppy helps Dylan woo the beautiful Jasmine, she cannot fight her own attraction to Dylan. I loved both Dylan and Poppy. Poppy is sweet and a little goofy. Dylan comes across as a bit arrogant, but as the story unfolds, you realize he is great guy who is insecure like most people. This story has a lot of laughs and is the perfect summer read! I was given an ARC of this book from the author for my honest review

Cupid for Hire. Not up to par from her other books. I give it a 3 1/2 stars. I liked parts of it, but the ending sucked! Also, she should weigh close to 300 pounds with what she ate. Tonage doesn’t make for good romance novels!

I loved everything but there’s one thing. I loved all the characters but I’m just curious how does poppy look like?

The perfect summer rom-com!. Every book I read by Lila Monroe just gets better and better! Cupids Anonymous is a playful and swoony insta-hit that gives all the sizzling and lighthearted feels. Poppy and Dylan were fantastic characters! After reading the sneak peek at the end of Frisky Business, I knew we were in for a real treat and couldn’t wait to read their story. Although Poppy and Dylan’s connection was initially professional, their relationship effortlessly transitioned to a quirky friendship that had its fair share of comedic moments and flirty sexual tension. Their character growth matched perfectly with the unique storyline, and portrayed both characters strengths and weaknesses as strong plot points within the story. Now usually I fall head-over-heels for every male character written by the author. But in this book, Poppy stole my heart completely! Her personality and optimistic outlook on relationships and love was super infectious, but it was her hardworking determination to achieve professional success on her own that really showed how strong of a character she really was. Don’t get me wrong, I go weak in the knees for a reformed playboy character, like Dylan, but Poppy was a breath of fresh air and I couldn’t help but love her. Cupids Anonymous is the perfect summer rom-com, a fun and charming must-read that will leave you smiling from ear to ear!

Sassy with Spark. This book does not disappoint!! A laugh out loud book full of banter. Poppy makes a living by writing love notes, vows and everything romance. But she can’t seem to find love herself. Her most active client Dylan thinks he’s found the one. But what he doesn’t expect is to fall for Poppy while she tried to get Jasmine to date him. Such a great book that will keep you laughing with a HEA. 5 star read

Cupid for Hire. First time reading this author. Cute story, liked the characters. Only a few word bombs, and a couple of descriptive sex scenes but not too over the top. Pretty sure I would read other books by Lila Monroe.

Absolutely entertaining!!. What an absolutely entertaining book! It was incredibly fun reading it and the banter was hilarious at times! I loved the general premise of the story and thought the characters had great friendships which made me want to be friends with them! I really genuinely liked Poppy, her ability to give her clients the romance they need in their lives! Such an interesting job I think! Dylan, that man, hotelier, charming and a bit of a player but also rather endearing! When he asks Poppy to help him get a certain woman to fall in love with him, needless to say they both don’t see what’s really going to happen! I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful book! It was lighthearted and easy to read and made my day!

Brilliant. Lila Monroe had me from chapter one in this fun, quirky and oh so entertaining read about Poppy Hathaway and Dylan Griffin. Every time I read a book from this author I I think I have a new favourite and here I am thinking it again. If you need a love letter written or a grovelling apology then Poppy is the woman to see. Dylan wants her help to woo his first love, the one who got away. I loved Poppy and Dylan, both separately and particularly together. There was something about these two that got to me. They were so easy to like and relate to and it made for a great read. I loved the journey they travelled from employee, to friends and finally to lovers. Lila Monroe is an author who knocks romantic comedy books out of the park. Her books are, sweet, spicy, romantic and so funny that you cannot help but fall in love with her characters and her stories. I never fail to smile when I read a Lila Monroe book.

This is a perfect summer read.. Cupids Anonymous by Lila Monroe was a fabulously funny story. The main characters gave me a heart-warming feeling whilst reading their story, even if Dylan started out as a bit of a ladies man. He soon changed his tune though, once he opened his eyes and saw the real Poppy, not the Cyrano to his love life. From the outset, their chemistry was undeniably hot, and only got hotter the longer they spent time in each other’s company. It’s filled with sexy innuendo, sassy banter and two people just made for each other. Except: Poppy isn’t the woman that Dylan was meant to be lusting after. He’d set his sights elsewhere, but fate, and time away from outside influences helped him see the truth. Poppy knows she shouldn’t be looking at her client they way she does, and if not for that one electrifying kiss she might not. She’s been hired to help Dylan shmooze his next conquest, but, what if she wants to be that conquest. And a whole lot more? I got all the happy feels with this story, it’s dynamics were spot on, from the interactions of the cast, main and secondary alike, to the small amount of angst, I just wanted to keep reading.
