I enjoyed the book. It was different than what I’m used to reading. I would’ve enjoyed more suspense. The end of the book, left me 😳 but that was the last 3 seconds of the book.
I finally got to pick up on doing some reading and stumbled to this book. At the time it was free (hopefully it still is). Ever since I purchased it I’ve been reading every chance I got. It’s such a thriller. Im on to reading book #2 the perfect block. Give it a shot you won’t be disappointed.

I have just started back reading in my spare time and this is the first book I chose. I work from home 7am to 3:30pm and I read in every bit of spare time I had, paying little attention to my boyfriend, haha! But I absolutely loved the thrill of this book and will be continuing to read more from Blake Pierce!!
Dragged the story a bit but I enjoyed reading the book.
The build up of this plot was really interesting. But then it kind of seemed overdone. I also saw quite a few grammar mistakes.

This book was quick & easy read. I immediately was captivated by Jessie’s character & how the story developed. The ending definitely leaves you wanting to read the other books in this series!

I don’t know how this author charges what she does for her books and sells so many books when she never corrects what readers point out time and time again.

Oh my god, this was abysmal. I am an avid reader, and thrillers are definitely my favorite, but this is so boring and bad. It feels like a C-plot in a really bad drama series that’s six seasons in. The grammar is awful, Jessie is a typical Mary Sue who gets congratulated for being soooo awesome at every turn, and the twist ending is so easy to guess, I figured it out the second she started her practicum. I seriously doubt an adult who graduated high school wrote this.
I can not believe i finished this book in a month! Now im sad lol but it was worth it...So captivating! Loved it. Need to find more of this author

Perfect ending to an already suspenseful first novel. It definitely makes you want to read the second book.
I really liked the strong female protagonist taking matters into her own hands. The plot left me wondering what was happening (in a good way). Nothing was too predictable. I liked the ending and it made me want to buy the next in the series. I’ve read a bunch of this authors books and this is one of my favourites.
I really enjoy the serial killer part however the Kyle's story line to me was extremely disturbing and annoying.

Author American. Female. Started on the self published route and has churned a gazillion titles, all of them series involving FFPs (feisty female protagonists): Riley Paige, Mackenzie White, Avery Black, Keri Locke, the list goes on. Jessie Hunt appeared in 2018 and there are already 15 in the series (I think), all with "Perfect" in the title. (The other series have related titles too). According to her website, Ms B is "an avid reader and lifelong fan of the mystery and thriller genres," and "loves to hear from you, so please feel free" blah, blah. In brief Jessie is 29, has a troubled past, and is nearing the end of training as a forensic psychologist. She wants to be, you guessed it, an FBI profiler. The fictional world can't get enough of them it seems. Our gal and her hunky investment adviser husband (another oxymoron, like the perfect wife) have just moved from DTLA (downtown Los Angeles for the uninitiated) to Orange County because his firm's opened a new branch there. The neighbourhood and its peeps have a distinctly Stepford Wives vibe, which our gal susses out immediately although hubby doesn't see it. Meanwhile, she's swapped from USC to UC Irvine and acquired a new supervisor, then gets herself into a Clarice-Hannibal thing with a psycho killer incarcerated in a secret lock up facility nobody talks about. What could possibly go wrong, right? Nothing unpredictable, that's for sure. Writing Eager high schooler with stories to tell and limited interest in editing. Bottom line I read it because it was free, okay? Don't judge me.
Great read; couldn’t put it down!
This book was interesting but has a lot of missing words from sentences, often the wrong word has been used in a sentence. Which makes the book frustrating to read and take seriously. I would recommend getting an editor to help legitimise your work. Also it’s a good idea to keep your character names spelling consistent from book to book.
As always with Blake a great book, good story and written to keep one’s interest until the end of the book. Yes I enjoyed it very much, a great read. I definitely recommend it.

Blake Pierce's books are atrocious and an insult to serious fiction readers worldwide. The stories are something that a grade school student could slam together in a very short amount of time. The number of typos, grammatical errors, and plain bad English is unforgivable but when an author starts mixing up the names of their characters there is seriously something wrong, and Blake does this in every book that I have read. Blake does zero research which can probably be forgiven as none is required for his/her stories which is why Blake's books are so blah. I only read Blake's books when advertised as free on Bookbub (thankfully I have not parted with any of my hard earned cash) just to see if he/she has grown as an author after such prolific self publishing...unfortunately I have been disappointed on each occasion. Blake Pierce should consider doing a few writers’ workshops. Blake needs to put more time and effort and research into writing stories that will grab the attention of people for their intricacy, attention to detail, plot twists, and intrigue rather than churning out the pulp that we have come to expect from him/her. It is also time for Blake to stop self publishing and employ some professionals...editors, proof readers, copy editors...people that will actually tell him/her the truth, that people are not interested in such predictable, clichéd, recipe book fiction. NEVER AGAIN!

The story started off a bit slow, but then it became nail biting and interesting with the many secrets around the main character, Jessie. I was curious about her traumatic past, but that gets recounted at the end. A worthy read.

I gave this book a 5 star review because it’s kept my attention and I could seriously relate with Jessie Hunt. The Author pulls you in and their’s enough humor, vulnerability, and raw emotion to leave you with a profound liking for the characters. I cannot say enough great things about this book, as well as the sequel and series as a whole. Do yourself a favor and get immersed in this wild ride!

Quite an author. I like the suspense.
Lots of twists and turns, up and downs in Jessie’s marriage. Who can she trust and does she really know her husband? She always felt something was off with their new life in suburbia but couldn’t put her finger on it until she found men at their exclusive club cheating on their wives. As a student, she was able to interview a serial killer that left even more questions about her past when she was abducted as a child. Murder, drugs, cover-up, miscarriage it’s all in this book.
Awesome book
I wanted to find a series to start and I stumbled on this. Since it was free I gave it a chance but it was slow and not much exciting happened. There was a ton of grammatical errors which is just so annoying. I won’t be continuing the series especially since the next book costs money

So I read a review before I bought this talking about how great this book was in the beginning but it got sloppy and rushed towards the end and I completely agree. It’s a decent book, if it would have kept the same pace at the end that was in the beginning it would have been a really good book. Still it was a page turner, I tried putting it down to go to sleep at a decent time but I couldn’t. I got back up and finished it because I had to know how it ended. All in all I would recommend to a friend trying to find a book to read on a plane.

This novel is pretty short comparatively speaking. It's decent for a storyline but there could have been way more character development and storyline included to really get you hooked on the characters but it felt rushed and therefore a little flat. It's a short, fun read that really makes Newport Beach (Westport Beach) (I live here) look like suburban hell but written from the point of view of an LA lover I guess it's to be expected because of the OC/LA rivalry. I love a good crime novel so I'm hoping the author improves her character development.

This book grabbed me as soon as I started to read it. From beginning to end, I was engulfed in the suspense that kept me picking up my phone to read every chance I got. I was a tad bit disappointed at the unrealistic sequence of events that led to “Jess” confronting her husband at their home. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to continue reading more novels from this author.
The characters are well developed, as is the plot! This book has lots of twists and turns. The ending is well written and not rushed. Looking forward to reading more from Blake Pierce!

This is a quick light easy read that keeps things moving nicely. While rather predictable, it remains fun and interesting throughout. A page turner fo sure.
I really wanted to get into this book, but it’s not keeping my interest no matter how many times I go back to it. The main character, Jessie is, so far, a huge b-word. What a horrible attitude 24/7. Also, there’s a lot of unnecessary blah, blah, blah and I can’t get past it.

Back to my favorite genre, mystery thrillers. This one, set in CA, what is clearly the Newport Beach area, thinly disguised as Westport Beach. Our characters have moved there from downtown LA in an upgrade on job and housing. There are a few surprises in the mix which I will not reveal for fear of spoiler alert. Regardless it is rather exciting and surprising, worth checking out!
Amazing, captivating and addicting. I for sure thought it was going to be one of those predictable stories with predictable plot twists but it kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t stop reading.
Pretty good book. Since it’s free, I’d download and read if you just need something to occupy you and kill some time. It was a bit unbelievable and a bit predictable but still interesting enough to motivate me to the end. Probably won’t continue the series though.
