Josh and Hazel’s Guide To Not Dating. Absolutely loved this book, the characters, the laugh out loud many moments, the pet names, the secondary characters. Just everything !

Laugh out loud. I absolutely could not put this book down (well my phone) I ignored phone calls and text messages. I was not to be disturbed read this story. Romance, acceptance, friendship... perfection writing this story.

Josh is Book Boyfriend Material!. HAZEL. Okay, at first I wasn’t sold on her, but as the story progressed I fell madly in love with her quirky spirit. And the relationship development was everything a reader could want—it helps that Josh is what dreams are made of. This is a romance book that will keep the reader completely involved, and it doesn’t even have any ridiculous or unbelievable plot points. I may have finished this book in one sitting, and I may have the biggest smile on my face after that ending + epilogue. To avoid spoilers, but still give you something to look out for, there’s this moment with a hat that just really gave me the warm heart feels! I need all of you to read this book, so you can experience this funny and warm romance.

Loved this book. It definitely had more ”descriptive events” in it than I wanted, but I still really enjoyed this story so much.

Fun, feel good story!. I Loved Josh and Hazel! Hazel was such a quirky girl and I find that I'm truly entertained by characters like her. I also really like the message the authors gave about her. She knew she was wild and a bit crazy and that not everyone would appreciate her and that's ok. She accepts who she is and that it will be a bit harder for her to find the right guy who can accept her as well. Hazel had one defining moment in her life that really stuck with her. She gets her wildness from her mom and she remembers very vividly the day when her father told her mother that she embarrassed him. She didn't want that. She wanted a guy who would never feel embarrassed by her. I would not describe Josh as straight-laced, but his personality is on the calmer side. To be honest, Hazel's personality was so big that I find myself struggling to describe Josh without her. There is mentions of some embarrassing firsts encounters in college that had Hazel believing he would see her as undatable and then jump 10 years in the present where they meet up again at his sisters bbq. Hazel still has that belief that Josh does not see her as anything more than a friend and is determined to become his best friend. When she witnesses him go through a break up with a long term girlfriend, she insists on them double dating to get them both back in the dating world. I love that we get to see them dating but not dating. They are going on these double dates so the pressure to see each other differently is off and yet they become closer and closer as they get to know each other and help each other move on from one disastrous blind date after another. Josh was great with Hazel. They had chemistry that made them seem like they had been together a long time. I think if she wasn't so stuck on believing she was too much for him, they would have been a couple so much sooner. This was such a fun and entertaining story. Despite Hazel's craziness, she was so endearing, and the way Josh treated her will just make you heart flutter. If you need a feel good story that will make you laugh out loud, pick this up! Love It. This was my first read by these authors. I love it! I love the characters. They were well developed. I love the writing style. I finished this book in one day. I will be readying more books from these authors.

A must read!. Absolutely fantastic! A perfect score for a perfect romance! This is laugh out loud funny and tear streaming down your face emotional charged romance. You will not be disappointed in this book. Josh and Hazel are the perfect balance of opposites attract and that the best of friends can be the best of lovers.

So much fun!. I loved this book. It’s the first from this author and to definitely will not be my last. I need a friend like Hazel. She was fabulous and so fun and quirky that I’m not surprised that Josh fell for her. Josh was Hazel’s opposite but he was kind and fun and got Hazel. You know from the start that they would end up together but the adventure to get there was well worth the ride/read.

A Netflix movie should be made.. ASAP. An emphatic 5 stars. Hazel may be the most marvelous character to ever be written. She’s the woman I dream to be: carefree, confident, intelligent, beautifully her own. Reading In her voice made me almost jealous; I want to be her, think like her, dream like her. And Josh would make anyone swoon. He’s perfect just as Hazel described. There is no other word for Josh Im. This book is the reason I fell in love with romance novels. The beautifully complicated act of loving someone unconditionally is what people are desperate to find, even if only in a book. Even in reading about it, we all can believe that someday someone will come along and love us for who we truly wholly are. Some believe reading romance novels is a way to escape but I believe it just puts into words the kind of love that’s out there and I’m destined to find it. Christina Lauren honestly just writes beautiful stories that inspire us to find that kind of love. I’ve read one too many romance novels, and I can honestly say, this story is my absolute favorite. A wordy review to say this is a must-read.

Every moment shared in life is a date... Adorable and still believable exhibition of these people and their character. I love that both Hazel and Josh were given voice in alternating chapters throughout so I got to know both of them (and their families of blood and choice) as friends, and be happy for it. I really Like them, which is such a precious commodity. Plus, I laughed so loud and deep reading some of Hazels lines as I walked to and from work on Nyc streets, people would whip their heads around to stare… Both parts of that sentence are noteworthy. Thank you so much for this book! I needed and wanted what you shared here in equal measures.

OMG!!. I loooooved this novel!! Absolutely one of my new top favorites. The characters are amazing and the story is the sweetest thing ever. Hazel’s personality is the best, and she’s probably my favorite novel character of all time. Her and Josh’s friendship journey is adorable and I loved reading Josh’s feelings progress for Hazel and her wild personality. The novel alternates pov’s from Hazel to Josh and it adds a cool twist to the feel of the novel, allowing a bit of dramatic irony. The author’s writing is smooth and very easy to read, I finished the novel in a day. I certainly recommend reading!

Not my favorite. First let me say that Christina Lauren is one of my favorite authors. I love both the Beautiful and the Filthy series, and I have read and enjoyed a few of their standalones as well (Unhoneymooners and Soulmate Equation). I was really looking forward to my next Christina Lauren read. Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating was an ok read. Certainty it was humorous and the supporting characters were interesting. But I just didn’t feel the emotional pull that I was looking for. I had a hard time buying that these two opposites-Josh and Hazel-were meant to be together. Honestly at times I winced at some of Hazel’s statements and behavior. I know she is meant to be a uniquely honest and carefree spirit but I just didn’t really like her at times. I’m sure I’ll read this again in the future, as I always do with Christina Lauren books. Maybe my opinion will change, and if so I’ll edit this review. I hope these authors again develop a group of characters that are sweet, sassy, hot, intelligent, conflicted, humorous and heartfelt as in the Beautiful and Filthy series. I really cared about what happened to each of them. Josh and Hazel not so much.

Yes!!. I liked this the thing I liked most was that there was an epilogue which I feel gives a complete and final ending to show that this is the endgame relationship I like the way their relationship progressed and the dynamic between all the characters yes the girls a little out there but not too much in my opinion and it’s cute and funny the whole thing with the ex boyfriend was kind of unnecessary but I guess in all books almost characters can never straight up talk about their feelings and have to have a third person involved before they say anything

Christina Lauren does it again. I loved this book. It had me smiling, laughing, and hoping they would just kiss already. It was a fun, fast read and I look forward to the next book from some of my favorite authors!

A quirky, charming, sexy, funny, and so well written!. Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating was phenomenal! I absolutely loved every hilarious, eccentric part of it!! ❝I swear my mouth and my brain are siblings who hate each other and give each other wedgies in the form of mortifying moments like this.❞ Josh and Hazel haven’t seen each other since college where it was one awkward encounter after another. The two weren’t exactly friends, I mean throwing up on someone’s shoes isn’t exactly a friendly maneuver. Now, years later, Hazel is a teacher at Josh’s sister’s school and is standing in her backyard. When Hazel’s apartment floods and she needs a place to stay, Josh’s sister volunteers his home. It’s only temporary and what could possibly go wrong? When Josh breaks up with his long-time girlfriend, Hazel cannot stand watching him mope around his house. She’s on summer vacation and wants to have fun. When she challenges Josh to get back into the dating game he returns the challenge and the result is each other setting the other up on blind dates — terrible blind dates — double blind dates — but they are just roommates and there’s nothing between them…right? You guys, Hazel is the best! She’s a fun, (and hilarious) carefree woman who loves herself and life. She isn’t willing to change who she is for anyone, including or especially a man. I love that these authors celebrated her eccentric behavior. Characters like Hazel are usually the “weird best friend” that no one wants to spend much time with or no one understands except the best friend. They aren’t main characters. Josh was sexy, funny and charming. His quiet reserve was the perfect balance to the wild, quirky and funny Hazel. He was at times reticent and guarded, but when he loved, he loved without reservations. He was all in. I can’t recommend this book enough! It was quirky, charming, sexy, funny, and so well written! Not only were there laugh-out-loud moments, there were moments that made me pause, and had my chin quivering. Seriously, if you’re looking for a feel good, laugh-out-loud book this summer, grab ‘Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren’!

This book changed things for me. I’ve never been one to read. This book changed that, I bought the digital copy to have it on my phone and I couldn’t stop reading... before bed, first thing in the morning, waiting at the dentist, between classes. The love pulls you in and the words are strung into the most beautiful story.
