A thousand specially selected people left a troubled Earth for a new beginning on a virgin planet thirty years away.

The ship was state-of-the-art, and entirely automatic; its passengers safely sleeping through the journey. Unfortunately, something has gone terribly wrong.

AL CLARK wakes to begin a new life, alone on an old and silent vessel with no memory of what transpired to place him there.

It is the beginning of a quest that will take him to places he could not have imagined, manage things he would not have thought possible, and instruct him on the true value of friendship.

This old-fashioned style Sci-Fi Adventure is suitable for all ages, and the first in the AL CLARK Series.

Great story. Great book

Cstict

I liked it. The only issue I had was with some of the dialogue. It didn’t feel real in a couple of instances. Otherwise, it was a pretty good book. There wasn’t a cliffhanger ending and I’m very thankful for that!

Blockman.

Fun. Great story. Not packed with evil doers. Well written with only a few grammatical errors. I’m not an English teacher. Decent happy ending with more stories to come.

Agua Abundante

Al Clark #1. I like sience fiction that is not simply nonstop space battles. This story has well devoloped story involving well developed characters, all of which I liked, and is a unique perspective on colonization of a new planet. Well worth the read. I read it in tow nights. Pretty good

I thoroughly enjoyed Al Clark. I’ve been an avid reader my entire life and enjoy many different genres of books. Recently I’ve gotten back into SciFi and Fantasy after years and years of anything but. Al Clark was an enjoyable read for me because I found it light and easy to read without having to remember too many difficult character names and complicated sub-plots. Don’t misunderstand, I like a well-told story that weaves around inside my head, however a book like this one that was more direct was relaxing and good fun. Well done, Mr Meyer!

Dunes 1969

Good introduction to the series. The story starts with the main character Al Clark waking up in a pod not knowing where he is. The story then goes on to take the reader to the new world that the ship has been circling for the past 10 years The first book could almost be a story in its own but it will be interesting to see how the story evolves

Zeusboo

Al clark. Easy read sci fi with a pleasant story line

Duck Sneeze

Intelligent dinosaurs. Loved the concept. Thank you for sharing your book.

Looking forward to book 2. Well written, well edited. Not too much techno babble to distract my reading, and no super intergalactic warfare, just good believable humans doing what humans do.

Avalon. I found the premise to be interesting and was delighted that planet fall actually happened successfully. In other books it often doesn’t happen—the colonists never reach their goal. The story was just the right length to keep my attention and keep me reading.

CatmomoftheIsles

A Refreshing story of survival. From beginning to end this is one of a kind amazing tale of exploration and survival! I could not put this book down, and that hasn’t happened in a long time!

Enjoyable battles with Dinosaurs. This review was first published on Kurt's Frontier. Synopsis: The spaceship Excalibur has left Earth for a new start on a planet thirty years away. The ship is state-of-the-art. One thousand people are kept in hibernation while the automatic systems complete its journey. Except something has gone dreadfully wrong. Forty years into the journey and they still have not woke up. Al Clark awakens with amnesia. He has no memory of how or why he’s on the ship. As he helps to wake the surviving passengers, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery. He goes places he never imagined and does things he didn’t think possible. Yet he is still left with a great mystery: Who is Al Clark? Review: Al Clark is the first book of the series with the same name. Earth is in the midst of an environmental crisis. Earth has sent colony ships to other Earth-like worlds. We are introduced to Al Clark, a man who wakes up on the ship with amnesia. What follows is Al Clark slowly working out who he is and why he is on the mission. There are characters—like Chris: a young man who is the first person Al meets after waking up and Liz, Chris’s mother—who become people we learn to care about. The first contact scenario seemed to go to well. This results from a prophecy that isn’t further explored after the author introduces it. As the story revolves around the setup of the colony, it proves to be an episodic story but still enjoyable with exciting battles with dinosaurs.

Pleasant Reading. A solid S F story with a cast of amicable characters. There’s a touch too much description at times, but otherwise it’s a pleasant read.
