The Fallen by David Baldacci
The Fallen by David Baldacci Book Summary
Star FBI detective Amos Decker and his colleague Alex Jamison must solve four increasingly bizarre murders in a dying rust belt town--and the closer they come to the truth, the deadlier it gets in this rapid-fire #1 New York Times bestseller.
Something sinister is going on in Baronville. The rust belt town has seen four bizarre murders in the space of two weeks. Cryptic clues left at the scenes--obscure bible verses, odd symbols--have the police stumped.
Amos Decker and his FBI colleague Alex Jamison are in Baronville visiting Alex's sister and her family. It's a bleak place: a former mill and mining town with a crumbling economy and rampant opioid addiction. Decker has only been there a few hours when he stumbles on a horrific double murder scene.
Then the next killing hits sickeningly close to home. And with the lives of people he cares about suddenly hanging in the balance, Decker begins to realize that the recent string of deaths may be only one small piece of a much larger scheme--with consequences that will reach far beyond Baronville.
Decker, with his singular talents, may be the only one who can crack this bizarre case. Only this time--when one mistake could cost him everything--Decker finds that his previously infallible memory may not be so trustworthy after all...

Another Great Baldacci Book. I’ve read them all and they are all terrific in their own way and with their own characters. Amos Decker is extremely likeable. I am looking forward to another novel with him as the leading character.
Balducci at his worst!. I’ve been reading Baldacci for years and this is the weakest book of them all! The story is strained and poorly conceived! Don’t waste your time or money! Move on to your next choice!
Just can’t put these books down!. This one was so involved I had to eat my wheaties to fuel my brain,,, this was so fun to read, the characters jump off the page,,, you never see the ending coming,,,, I feel like I was there!!!! I could swear I was standing in that window with Decker feeling the rain on my face as he is deep thought,,,, love love love these stories
The Fallen. Excellent!!!

Excellent summer read. Once you start, very hard to put down! Intriguing story with colorful characters.
simplistic. Rather boring and slow simplistic. explained everything too many times and a complete wrap up the Ronald 15 pages. not a fan anymore
Great Book. This book really added a lot to Deckers character and really made for an enjoyable read. I could appreciate a movie based on this series of books. Keep up the great writing.
It keptme busy. Ok, a little smaltzy good mystery tangled web like a black widows web sticky at times
The Fallen. Enjoyed immensely ! It had my attention from the beginning. Could hardly wait to find out what Amos would do!
The Fallen. Another excellent piece with lots of plot twists. A real page turner!
No. Nothing like Wish You Well or the thrillers around the world of Washington D.C. I bought it, so I read it. I shouldn’t have. Shallow characters, silly plot, and lots and lots of filler. I miss the quality of David Baldacci’s early work.
My Kind of Read. Scarily great reading.
Great. Loving this series
Great story. Enjoyed the book. Highly recommended!

Not his best work. I usually like his books and his earlier Amos Decker books were good. This one, however, was a disappointment. The plot was complex to the point of being literally unbelievable. The errors in technology were distracting (a non-military drone does not sound like an airplane), the criminals using the drone for surveillance didn’t think to black out the lights. And I lost count of the number of murders committed in the small town of Baronville after six. It seemed to me to be a badly thought out attempt to highlight the very real impact of opioid addiction in small town America.
The Fallen. Brought the book for a vacation read. In two days done. Could not put it down. Thanks for making my vacation so much more enjoyable. Craig
The Fallen. Loved the read.
The FALLEN. Really enjoyed this book. Liked the ending of this book. The only other book with a better ending was Water for Elephants.
The Fallen. One of the better and most complex Balducci novels
The fallen. At first this story seemed a little confusing, but then it all seemed to come together. Like Decker character & have read all the books featuring him.
Review of the Fallen. I love the Decker series and all the Baldacci books. My issue is that this book had such a painstaking buildup to the exciting conclusion. Less would have been more with the same result.
Unonymous. Gripping, could not put it down !!
The fallen. Baldalchi is the best story teller. I like action books. This wasn’t that suspenseful but was captivating. Couldn’t put it down.
Outstanding!. Keeps getting better! Loved all the twists and turns!
The Fallen. Great Book! One of the best I’ve read in a while!

The Fallen. Hope you never stop writing about the Memory Man, read all in series and waiting for another.
Not one of Baldacci’s best.. Preposterous is a good word to describe this book. We never learn how large the town is but apparently they have enough police force to not miss those that are killed Often. The ending is abrupt and those of the book is long the explanations of what was going on is handled in the last few paragraphs. Most of this makes little sense.I’ve always enjoyed Baldacci’s books but this one was a little much.

The Fallen. A fantastic
Easy and Wonderful Read. This is one of those suspense books you'll read for hours at a time. Always exciting and you will find yourself trying to figure out, "who done it". GREAT BOOK!
The Fallen. One of the better books he has written in a long time. It was hard to put down. We could, however, use a little romance.
The Fallen. The master of mystery story tellers has done it again. Totally realistic and makes one believe it could actually be true!
Awesome, spell binding with alot of suspense. Wow awesome progression of a character from book 1 to this latest masterpiece. Very well thought out and it perfectly came together in the last chapter, but the writing compelled you to get to the last chapter.
Liked the book but can’t figure out why I’ve been charged twice the price it quoted to read it. I don’t like being cheated out of money.
It drags on and on ...... Was not a "can't wait for the next page" type of story. To drawn out.
The fallen. Pretty good characterization. Amos Decker is indeed an interesting character. But what’s with David Baldacci and all the rain or the bunker or the Mausoleum? I’m getting to the point where I kind of time myself to see when I’m going to get to the someone ...
The Fallen. Not as good as the first 2. Drawn out and at times monotonous.
Reminded me why I quit reading this author.... Silly plot, all over the map, amateurish and frankly boring. It’s like he just randomly writes stuff to get a page count, and then tries to tie it all together, with the result being a jumbled nonsensical story. Reminded me of why I quit reading Baldacci a long time ago. Frankly, the book just prior to this, by Joseph Finder for two bucks, was way better. Too many good authors out there to justify paying fifteen bucks for someone who dials it in like this seems to be.
Best author Ever!. I learned how to read what I was about four years old with Dr. Seuss. I have readof thousands of books and continue to read at least one a week. I picked up a David Baldacci book from my friend last year and was hooked. In a little over a year I have read every book he has written and eagerly antipate the next one to hit the shelves. Thank you Mr. Baldacci!
Book Review. Another great read, very hard to put down.
Great book. Page turner
Decker. Great book !!! Very fast read the best Decker book to date.
My Least favourite. I love the memory man series but did not enjoy this one. It was boring very hard to get into. I actually did not read the whole book.
Not my favorite. Not up to his normal standard.
Save your money!. Worst Amos Decker book I have read. Could not even finish it. Save your money!
Good Murder Mystery. Good story. Well written. Too many characters. I got lost trying to keep all the names straight.

The Fallen. As usual a great read. Hard to put down.
Fallen. Very good well written and educational. An easy read.
The Fallen. Meh . . . . Amos Decker, who got off to a good start, deserves better than this lame plot.
The Fallen. I really enjoyed this book. I liked the softer side of Decker with Zoe and the other people. I could not but the book down.
Do you. MI’m going back you from green rhitters xxxbyybucxrrrrrrrrrr
Great book. Great book
The Fallen. This book follows the career of a damaged man who continues to heal emotionally and change physically. The tightly wrapped mystery and the police procedural aspects develop into a story that hard to put down.

The Fallen. Tedious. Not nearly as good as the previous books.
Excellent. Must read. One of his best.
Not Baldacci’s best effort.. I have enjoyed all of Baldacci’s books, but this one was a struggle to stay with it. The plot was rather weak, the usual full cast of characters in the Decker series was missing. It felt like the author wanted to release the next book in a timely fashion and quickly put something together. Hopefully wherever he goes with his next release, he will return to the form we have come to enjoy so much.
Favorite Amos Decker book to date. This is a really good book in the Amos Decker series. My favorite so far. It shows a side of Amos that I was anxiously waiting to read. The true drug issues going on in our society today, where detailed and true. I am glad I binged this book today. What a fantastic tale.
Excellent. I’m a huge Fan of Baldacci’s work so it comes as no surprise his latest book is riveting from start to finish. Great engaging read.
The Fallen. Another superb book by David Baldacci. He is without question one of America’s finest story tellers.
The Fallen. Another cellist story by the author of so many excellent stories. It is very timely in its combination of a moderately sized city in the throes of decay caused by the decline of its manufacturing capacity and fraught with an opiod epidemic overlaid with avarice and greed. Accidentally thrust into this vortex Amos Decker and Alex Jamison are quickly embroiled while bodies fall around them. Decker finds himself humanized and afraid of what may become of his immense resource -his mind! Well worth the read!!
What a disappointment. Remember when a book was just that, a book, a story to spend time with and to get away from the real world with. Now every book is a political piece and this is no different. Sadly Baldacci has fallen into the political PSA realm and hasn’t even done it well. We are led to believe that everyone in this small town is walking around with a needle hanging out of their arm or actively snorting opioids and it’s all a national conspiracy to destroy the already downtrodden “little man” meanwhile DEA agents give fact sheets as part of conversations and in the last two chapters mysteriously buried treasure is found?? I have been a Fan if Baldacci for some years but found it an actual struggle to finish this book.
The Fallen. Amos Decker's much anticipated return did not disappoint. I simply could not put it down. His plots and many fascinating characters along with the many twists and turns kept my attention throughout the book. He continues to flesh out Decker and his partner, Alex Jamison, but leaves us wanting more. While I'm sure Mr. Baldacchi is very busy, I hope he does not make his fans wait too long for the next installment of this amazing series.
I’m bot b5. Todonooocyto
The Fallen. Mr Baldacci continues to write stories you cannot put down. Thanks you David ever so much!
Drug and Murder Mystery. Alex and Decker head to Pennsylvania/Ohio to visit a sister and end up in a murder/drug scheme. Who’s involved and who isn’t is complicated. Great story about good guys and bad guys, whose who? Read and find out.
Excited!. I am very confused as to why this book is not labeled as book 4 in the Memory Man series. I am pretty sure this is the fourth book; I hope I am not wrong. But I must say I have read the other three Amos Decker novels and I am completely obsessed with them. I recommend this series highly! Baldacci puts so much detail into his writing, it truly makes for a perfect crime/mystery series. I love all the little details Baldacci is able to create, and how they all add together to produce such a well-written/intriguing page-turning series. Needless to say... I cannot wait to get my hands on the paperback version of this novel !
Great Action Adventure for the Heart. Love happily ever after when the good guys prevail🦄🎉🌈

The Fallen. Mr. Baldacci continues to amaze me with his creative plots and fleshed out characters! The story seems so current and very reasonable! No last minute "super hero" escapes or tangents that are "Deus ex Machina" like! Please keep entertaining us David!
The Fallen. Another good story from Baldacci

The Fallen. As always, Baldacci has written a superb novel. Great characters. With a wonderfully developed story line.
The Fallen. Once again David B’s book is outstanding. The story flow with a myriad of sub plots and always supporting the main plot. Keeps the reader guessing how Amos is going to solve this and who is the main culprit. Looking forward to the next book David authors.
Good Read. Typical Baldachi novel. Well written, but fairly predictable conclussion.
