Frustrating. Overall the plot was intriguing as well as the book divisions to keep the reader engaged. Character development and dialogue, especially Andrea was so frustrating. I literally said out loud “spit it out already.” I ended up finishing it but it took me awhile. There’s a lot to keep you turning the page but then there’s a lot just to leave it on the night stand.

A total mind bender. My gosh, what a ride. This book kept me up. I had to read it to the end. This is truly Karin Slaughter’s best yet, I think. I like them all but this one had me going until the end. Wow! A must read.

B/s not about the book but the purchasing system.. I ordered this book when it was 2.99 and it never went to my library during Xmas time this is ridiculous not the first time this has happened.

Can not recommend. Intriguing idea & beginning that falls apart & gets really frustrating. Unbelievable in many areas especially neither parent reaching out to Andrea. I wanted to finish, the story hoping it would get back on track. It did not.

Not one of my favorites. I have devoured all of Karin Slaughter’s books, but must say that “Pieces of Her” is the least recommended of all of them. Too repetitive, jumps around too much, and not much character development . . in my opinion. Extremely tiresome plot. I do believe that if the book had stuck to the original timeline and character development, the reader interest would have risen dramatically. Don’t think the Netflix series will be worth watching.

Annoying Characters. Frustrating characters, mainly Andrea . I’ve never read a book with so many unfinished sentences. The basic premise of the book was good and could’ve been a really interesting and fascinating read but the characters never quite grew with the story.

Couldn’t put it down!. My 4th book by Karin Slaughter and it kept me up late into the night! Loved the past and present stories as well. Great job!

Page Turner. I thought this was one of the best books I’ve read. The plot had my heart racing, I couldn’t get enough and purposely took my time for fear of it ending.

Confusing. I’m sorry I paid full price for this book. The first half or more was very confusing. It skipped back and forth in time (which I’m really not a fan of) plus there were 2 Laura’s, 2 Andy’s and trying to figure out who was who...? This is definitely not my favorite by this author. It’s the first time I’ve been disappointed in anything I’ve read by her. I doubt I’ll buy another stand alone book by her.

Great book!. It took me a little bit to get into this book, but once I did, I was hooked!

Boring. This book is terrible. I was really hard to follow the story, has no twists, and is very boring!

LOVED THIS!!. I absolutely loved this title. It was completely unputdownable. If you love Karin Slaughter, which you should, you will love this book.

I am now a Slaughter fan. This was my first Slaughter novel and I absolutely LOVED it. I read THE GOOD DAUGHTER right after and am now addicted to her work!! Highly recommend.

Pieces of her. I honestly don’t know how she does it but Karin Slaughter has outdone herself again. Character development, plot lines and a really good story! My only criticism is I wish she wrote faster! I read in a week what it takes her a year to research and write.

Confusing and forgetable. I love Karin Slaughter, but not this book. Just wanted it to be over to see if it actually was a good story. Painful read and there was nothing likable about main character, no connection.

Another masterful novel from one of the greats. Karin Slaughter is a master of her craft and PIECES OF HER proves she’s at the top of her game. This is an absolute standout from one of my all time favorite writers. The twists are so unexpected and utterly satisfying. Be sure to set aside a day to read this one, you won’t want to put it down!!

Seriously?. “Not that Andy wasn’t a feminist, but she didn’t want to be the kind of feminist men hated.” GIRL BYE. I can read crappy, poorly thought out, predictable mystery novels without pandering to male approval.

Pieces of Her. I have loved all of her books but this one. It was boring and didn’t really seem to flow well. All of the characters were very flat and uninteresting. I wish I could return it for a refund. Definitely not her best.

Good read but too long. The plot and prose are intriguing and good respectively. However the pace suffers from too much repetition. This is too bad since the novel’s start is so stunning and fast-paced. The “push-pull” of the protagonist’s relationship between her and her deranged boyfriend is repetitive and the novel suffers accordingly. I do feel however it will make a great series on Netflix.

Great lazy afternoon read!. And what a ride! I loved that I stayed ahead of the narrative and watched my suspicions turn into truths. By the end, I had put it all together and enjoyed how the writer tied it all together.

Boring. This is the only Karin Slaughter book I did not enjoy. It took me long to read because I just wasn’t into it. The main character is 32 years old but I couldn’t help but think she was a teenager throughout. There wasn’t any growth in the storyline. I was reading words in an effort to get to the last age. Terribly disappointing.

Twisty and so good!. This book is full of twists and I finished it in a week. Really loving Karin Slaughter lately. If you read Pretty Girls you will like this.

Fast paced riveting. I did enjoy this book! Would recommend. I would have given it 5 stars, but I had some problems with a few of the characters. Had trouble fully engaging with a main character. That being said, no one can spin a story like Ms. Slaughter! No one can do “broken” and marginalized like the author either.

Excellent read. As always, Slaughter pulls us into a world and surrounds us with characters we think of long after the pages end.

So so good. Can’t wait to read more books by Karin. Really well done for a past and a present. Looking forward to the Netflix series.
