The instant New York Times and USA Today bestseller about two identical twin sisters who couldn't look more alike . . . or live more differently.
Nantucket is only eleven miles away from Martha's Vineyard. But they may as well be worlds apart for estranged twin sisters Harper and Tabitha Frost.
After not speaking for more than a decade, Harper and Tabitha switch islands-and lives-to save what's left of their splintered family. But the twins quickly discover that the secrets, lies, and gossip they thought they'd outrun can travel between islands just as easily as they can. Will Harper and Tabitha be able to bury the hatchet and end their sibling rivalry once and for all?
Before the last beach picnic of the season, there will be enough old resentments, new loves, and cases of mistaken identity to make this the most talked-about summer that Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket have experienced in ages.

Wonderful story
Itâs easy to become wrapped up in each characterâs side of things.. very glad to have found such an engaging author!
Love this book! It was an easy read and I think everyone can relate to at least some of the family drama in this book. Great read! Impressed by Elinâs work, as usual.

This was a little hard to get into initially, but then things got interesting, and it was hard to put down. I recommend this book.
I don't know what the haters of this book are talking about. I loved it and had a hard time putting in down to sleep and work. The characters are very interesting and while there are many it was easy to keep them all straight if you have half a brain. Loved it!!
This books was fun and eay to read. Felt like being on vaction while stuck inside an airconditioned house in 100 degree weather or in the passenger seat of a car on a business trip home. My only dissapointment was it shold of been 3 chapters longer giving each charectors perspective once the âstormâ calmed. I was left wonder about Tabitha and Ansley at least.
This was one of her best. I really enjoyed it!
The Identicals is a brilliantly crafted, complex, family drama. Eleanor Frost is a driven career woman. Her success, however, would come at a hefty price. Eleanor sacrificed the love of her family for her business. She divorced her husband, Billy, and insisted that one of their twin daughters live with her, and the other with Billy. Tabitha and Harper, were identical twins, and inseparable until their parentâs divorced. Tabitha stayed with Eleanor, much to her dismay, on Nantucket, and Harper went with Billy to Marthaâs Vineyard. Eleanor had no idea at the time of the separation, just how much her selfish decision would cost her daughters. The twinâs relationship would suffer terribly, and they would not see one another, for any length of time, until Billy died, fourteen years later. Tabitha thought her sister had it easy. Harper didnât have to contend with her motherâs impossible demands. She also didnât have an out-of-control teenage daughter to raise. Harper had a perfect life, Tabitha thought. She did what she wanted to do and had the matching reputation to prove it. Harper didnât care about anyone. But, that wasnât true, Harper cared a great deal. She also carried a heavy load of guilt around with her every day. However, after their father died, Tabitha thought she had the perfect punishment for Harper. They would switch places for the summer. Instead of it being a punishment, however, it turned out to be a positive learning experience for both of them. And for Tabitha, the best thing that could ever happen to her. Love, forgiveness, and healing would touch many lives on those two Islands. Owning up to selfish mistakes was the first step in healing for the Frost family; the second was forgiveness. I loved this book. Itâs a well-crafted, complex story, with realistically flawed characters. They all had lessons to learn, and by the end of the book, I knew every character intimately and felt deeply for them. The Identicals completely captivated me until the very last page. I highly recommend giving it a read. Thank you, Little, Brown and Company and NetGalley, for my advanced review copy.
You need a spreadsheet to keep track of all the characters, but it's an excellent read.

It's that simple, this is the best book I've read by Elin Hilderbrand.
Just can't read another of her books. Tried the sample and decided I just couldn't. After reading an older one with her denigrating remarks (she hates a lot of things, she doesn't like the people that drive Hummers that take up two parking spaces, she doesn't like two week renters, they're not true islanders, etc.) I decided she's just a snob and I won't read any more of her books.
Loved this book!!!!
The best book I have read since reading same kinda different as me!
With a great story that has wonderful characters and descriptions of these Islands that make me want to hop a plane to Boston, drive to the ferry and be one of those 90,000 tourists. Thank you for the distraction of the past three days of my life. But....where is my extra chapter about Billy and Elenor??? Not fair

I am a big fan but this book is just not good. I couldn't connect with the characters, very muddled storyline. Sorry, but I would not recommend.
Loved this book! I have read a couple other of Elian's books and so far this is my favorite! But I now want to read more, in fact all of them. I'm an island girl as well (St. John, US Virgin Islands) and also a mother of twins (37 year old sons) so this book resonated with me on many levels. Great read!
I look forward every year to read the new novel by Elin. This book was so disappointing confusing characters and a rush to wrap it up. I found the book not as easy to get into, and all of the major issues, parents, single parenting, drinking, bullying, affairs, to be handled poorly. Not realistic this year. Sad.
