Sting by Sandra Brown
Sting by Sandra Brown Book Summary
A savvy businesswoman and an assassin struggle to outwit the FBI -- and each other -- in this #1 NYT bestselling story of sizzling romance and shocking deception from "a masterful storyteller" (USA Today).
When Jordie Bennet and Shaw Kinnard lock eyes across a disreputable backwater bar, something sparks. Shaw is a man who gives off a dangerous vibe that makes other men stand back and women take notice. No one feels this more strongly than Jordie, a woman who doesn't belong in a seedy dive on the banks of a bayou. But here she is . . . and Shaw Kinnard is here to kill her.
As Shaw takes aim, Jordie is certain her time has come. Instead, Shaw has other plans. He abducts Jordie, hoping to get his hands on the $30 million her brother has stolen. But he isn't the only one: Jordie's brother made a deal with the FBI, but his ruthless boss will stop at nothing to find the money first. Now on the run from the feds and a notorious criminal, Jordie and Shaw must rely on their wits to stay alive.
Miles away from civilization and surrounded by swampland, Jordie and Shaw play each other against their common enemies. Jordie's only chance of survival is to outwit Shaw, but he suspects her from the start. Was she in on her brother's scam, or is she an innocent pawn in this deadly vendetta? And just how valuable is her life to Shaw, her remorseless and manipulative captor? Burning for answers -- and for each other -- this unlikely pair ultimately make a desperate move that could be their last.
With nonstop plot twists and the sizzling sexual tension that has made Sandra Brown one of the world's most beloved authors, Sting will keep you on the edge of your seat until its final pages.

Not my favorite. I usually love Sandra Brown's books but this one fell short.
Awesome. Pretty good!
Sting. Boring is saying something nice about this book. I want my money back!
What a fantastic book!. Twists and turns throughout the entire book… You will be on the edge of your seat till the very very end… A must read for sure!
Lazy writing, cheesy lines, flat characters. Without spoiling the weak plot, I can say that this story has an insane number of holes. The characters were flat and unbelievable and their cheesy lines and ridiculous thought processes were laughable - and not in a good way (especially from "Shaw"). A good story doesn't need a plot twist, much less TWO or more, as Sting gives us. Plot twists are lazy writing at its best. The final plot twist about made me throw my phone out the window it was so ridiculous! I've read the Twilight series and even that garbage was better than this book. Don't bother!
Sandra Brown does it again. Another incredible book by Sandra Brown. I couldn't put it down.
Disappointing. This my my least favorite of Sandra Brown's books. I would not recommend reading it!
Deceiving. I picked this up at the airport to read on a long flight to Hawaii. I was a bit skeptical, I mean she is going to fall for a kidnapper and killer ... sounds like a little too much Stockholm syndrome... but there was a twist I didn't see coming. I liked the pace of the book... just enough suspense, surprise and romance. The ending didn't disappoint either. Great read.
A real Sting’ing novel. This book took so many twists & turns, it really kept me flipping pages…maybe one of her best!
The Sting. Another great book!
Sting. As I read the book I felt as though I had already read it. Came off as a rewrite.
Sting!!. A real page-tuner. I couldn't put it down. Loved it!!!
Not worth it. Predictable, cheesy, formulaic, and ultimately disappointing. Don't bother.
STING. GOOD
Sting. Thoroughly entertaining! The perfect summer read!
How can this be on a best seller list?. I'm sorry to offend the author, but parts of this book were so repetitious as to be painful. Sappy and directed at a sex absorbed 12 year old!
Great book. Love it.
Stick with it til the end. I read this book for a book club. I'm glad that I read it but I'm afraid that this would have been a completely different review if I hadn't pushed myself to keep reading. It wasn't until I hit 53% that I really connected with the book and started liking it. Actually liking it isn't strong enough, I started loving it and couldn't put it down! Being our monthly read for the book club I felt obligated to push through and I'm so glad that I did. Jordie and Shaw are difficult characters to really connect with. At first it was almost like they were just playing their role but not really filling it. It's hard to really describe, maybe they were more 2 dimensional but then everything changes and they turn into these wonderful characters that you are connecting with and breathless as they go through the story. I wouldn't normally recommend reading a book that took that long for me to get into but I promise, it's worth sticking with it in the end.
Sting. As usual I wanted to keep reading nonstop! Always surprises with the twists, Love it
What a Ride. It's been a long time since I have enjoyed a book as much as I have enjoyed "Sting." I kept trying to put it down because I didn't want it to end. I loved the storyline, the characters, the twists and misdirection. I use to read Sandra Brown. Don't know why I stopped but I'm back now!!
consuming plot. Sting has a decent amount of mystery and suspense. You aren't quite sure who's doing what and who's the good/bad guys through most of it. Also, it feels as if someone could die at any given moment. There's also some sexual tension and just regular strain between most of cast over who is going to be the one in charge. Romantic Suspense is an awesome genre for me. I liked this book and will check out more from this author.
Another Brown winner. Great suspense. My second time reading and enjoyed it as good as the first time!
The Sting. Boring beyond belief. Couldn't have cared less what happened to the characters or in the situation. Totally unable to relate.
Mel. Good story, good ending. I recommend it.
Sting. Loved it !!! I could not put it down . I don't why there are some negative reviews because this book was great !
More of the same. I love Sandra brown ...read all her books. This one was so much like " mean streak" that I knew from the beginning what was going down. I was disappointed. Usually all her stories are completely different...this one seemed...more of the same.
Sting. Excellent book! Sandra Brown has done it again.
Horrible. Don't do it! I couldn't even finish this book I could care less about the characters or what will happen. Horrible writing with sappy predictable will they or won't they. When they kissed and she liked it I wanted to throw the book across the room!
Disappointed. I was so disappointed. I didn't think there was a connection between the main guy and girl and then one of the major plot twists was the same as an earlier book by Sandra which I did like very much.
