Saving Sophie by Sam Carrington
Saving Sophie by Sam Carrington Book Summary
‘I DEVOURED THIS STORY IN ONE SITTING’ Louise Jensen, author of The Sister
A teenage girl is missing. Is your daughter involved, or is she next?
Your daughter is in danger. But can you trust her?
When Karen Finch’s seventeen-year-old daughter Sophie arrives home after a night out, drunk and accompanied by police officers, no one is smiling the morning after. But Sophie remembers nothing about how she got into such a state.
Twelve hours later, Sophie’s friend Amy has still not returned home. Then the body of a young woman is found.
Karen is sure that Sophie knows more than she is letting on. But Karen has her own demons to fight. She struggles to go beyond her own door without a panic attack.
As she becomes convinced that Sophie is not only involved but also in danger, Karen must confront her own anxieties to stop whoever killed one young girl moving on to another – Sophie.
A taut psychological thriller, perfect for fans of The Girl on the Train and I Let You Go.
Reviews
‘I was hooked . . . I devoured this story in one sitting. From the moment 17-year-old Sophie arrived home drunk, with no recollection of the evening, and we discover another teenage girl has gone missing, my stomach rolled with anxiety . . . I was on the edge of my seat as a body was found, and when it becomes apparent that Sophie could be the next target I read through splayed fingers. Sam has a rare gift for writing . . . In this book the character development is as good as the writing and I found myself really rooting for Karen and the ending made me gasp.’ LOUISE JENSEN, author of THE SISTER

Ok. A first effort for this author. I read the whole thing, because her characters were nicely written. The plot holes and unbelievable behaviors of said characters were a negative. Page turner tho.
Great book. This book is a great read. I couldn't put it down. Now I have to find another book by this author
Saving Sophie. I was left hanging at the end
Saving Sophie. If you enjoy reading a book to the end and finding nothing resolved then this book is for you.
Enjoyed!!!!!. My Review: Enjoyed!!!!! This was a fast paced read that I couldn’t get enough of. I read in just a few sittings. What didn’t I like about this one is the real question here. The characters were well written, the story line kept me hooked and I almost had a heart attack at the ending. I do have to say that this is not my first rodeo with this author and it certainly will not be my last. I have read several of this authors books and have loved them all. This author always shocks me in some way and always leaves me guessing the whole way through. Only thing I didn’t like about this book was the chapters were very short and seemed choppy to me. I really wished they would’ve flowed better but for me it didn’t take anything away from this great read. In fact, I can’t wait to read more of this authors book. In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very poor writing. I really disliked the book; the characters were not at all relatable or easy to like. I had a very hard time enjoying any of the lead characters, in fact, I had zero empathy and grew to dislike the whole lot. The plot was weak, the story lacked depth, the ending was not worth the read.

Meh. Was gripping at first, the mother became super annoying and irrational, even with a mental illness. Became over dramatic and eye roll inducing. Didn’t enjoy, just ended up annoyed.
Saving Sophie. The books was awful. Poorly written and simply awful.
Story kept me going. Hard to put down sometimes.
Saving Sophie. A page turner- kept me up late into the evenings until I had to finish!
A disappointing end. The book creates convincing characters, you never fully know if you feel sympathetic towards them. The story builds well however the last 50 pages or so feel a bit rushed and contrived. I didn't fully believe that the characters were explored fully in the end, there's a twist but not anything unexpected
Gripping. Gripping story, great characters, heart-racing and suspicion inducing in parts. A cleverly weaved story which should teach us all to face the truth and not withhold information. The ending was so sad and left SO many questions unanswered. I need to read more...
Saving Sophie. Terrible book, terrible plot, painful to finish and devoid of any likeable characters...
Good read.. This is a good book, the person responsible is given early but I was left guessing who was involved and why right until the very end. I'm giving this a 3/5 it didn't grip me until about half way through, also I feel a few characters could have had their stories wrapped up but they didn't, there are a few 'well what happened next...?' questions from me.
Saving Sophie. I read this book whilst on holiday as I always seem too busy when at home. I must say I had a few late nights as I was unable to put the book down a brilliant read.
Saving Sophie. Good read, a bit slow during the middle, ending was good but sad
Saving Sophie. A good book to keep you wondering. Excellent read 10out of10
Rubbish. Utter waste of imagination... A star for finishing the book..
BARE SICK CREW😏😏😏. Dis book was bare Gd, all the Mandem should read about Sophie cos she's the realist Bredrin in the ends, 10/10 wood bang!! Ya
