Must read. This is one of those books that keeps you up until 3am because you HAVE TO KNOW HOW IT ENDS. I loved the characters, the humor, the romance, and everything in between. So excited there are more books in this series and even happier that it's a weekend and I can spend all day tomorrow reading the next book.

A romance with both hot sex and great dialogue (both inner and between characters)?? Review: Magnificent B*stard. Magnificent B*stard by Lili Valente is a stand-alone romance that is so flipping funny and sweet and fantastic you'll want more. I just couldn't get enough of Bash's perspective on life, love, and the consulting business he owns. The plot is original, the dialogue is HILARIOUS, and I blown away, yet again, by the wonderful writing skills of the wonderful Lili Valente A.K.A Jessie Evans (for the less erotically inclined). Bash is consultant who helps women get "revenge" on their loser exes by putting on a performance of moving on with a hot and sensitive man and making sure that the power the loser ex had over the girl is cut, severed, gone forever. His assistant for the past couple of years, who he has NEVER met in person, shows up one day requesting his services. Penny has had it rough. She has always kept to herself, and while she is a beautiful person inside and out, her confidence has taken a huge hit thanks to not only her ex but a certain family member too. She needs Bash's help to get her life back on track, take the power back from her ex and show everyone, once and for all, that she is tough enough to stand tall and proud. I loved it - it's awesome - Just read it! Enjoy

Epilogue= boo. The book is great but the epilogue ruined it. Seriously brought a big fat frown to my face. Don't read the epilogue.

Fun and Funny. My introduction to Lili Valente was "Magnificent Bastard," the first book in this series. And what an introduction it was! The premise of the series is clever, and the dynamic and dialogue between the characters was witty and original, so I couldn’t wait to see what was in store with book two: "Spectacular Rascal." Aiden Knight is best friend to Sebastian (Bash) Prince, aka Magnificent Bastard. MB Consulting is dedicated to axiom “don’t get mad, get even.” Bash convinces his tattoo artist friend Aiden that joining MBC is not only a great way to help him raise the funds to open his second studio, but it’s also good for the soul. Armed with the moniker Spectacular Rascal, Aiden accepts the latest MBC client, Beth Jones, a woman whose “ex” doesn’t seem to understand that no means no. It seems like it’s going to require not only Aiden’s brains and good looks, but his tatted-up bad boy brawn as well to convince her mobster get-a-clue-ex that it’s time to move along. There’s something touching and compelling about their connection, and I found my chuckles accompanied by a sniffle or two more than once. A spectacular summer escape. Grab your e-reader and head to the pool, but don’t forget the lemonade. You’re gonna need something to cool you off from all the dirty talk. Aiden really is a rascal. Honesly, I'm going to miss these guys. Maybe the author can be convinced to give us a follow-up story just for fun...

One of the BEST books of the year!. I’m a huge fan of Lili Valente and have read and loved all of her books. This is her first full length book and by far my favorite of hers! She is a fabulous writer and I devoured Magnificent B@stard in one sitting! It has everything I love in a romance: humor, heat, angst, more humor, and tears. Sebastian (Bash) Prince is the Magnificent B@stard. You need to get back at your ex? Make him jealous? Wish he were never born. Bash is your man. He'll wine you, dine you and show the world that you’re his. Well, mostly. He'll make everyone think you're his. He's that good. Penny, his virtual assistant, who he hasn't actually met in person, needs his services. That's not the bad part. The bad part is when he sees her, he's thrown. She's gorgeous and he wants her. That is very bad. He doesn’t physically get involved with clients. But, since Penny is one of his closest friends, the attraction is off the charts. He can't not help her. Her story is too good and he wants to help her show her ex what he's lost. Bash has been hiding from love for years. Certain that he can go on living his life as is. But when things heat up with Penny and I mean, heat up, he can't stop his heart, body and soul from getting involved. He wants to save her, protect her and love her. Will he get scared and run for the hills? Will Penny fall for her ex's apology? I loved this book. So. Much. I laughed, I cried and I laughed some more. The sexual tension is so electric that I was actually fanning myself. I want more of Bash and Penny!

Awesome read from Bash's pov. This is a flocking awesome book! seriously it is Hilarious, witty,smexy, with sweet moments and naughty all wrapped up. Almost a complete opposite of Lili's dark erotic books. Plenty of dirty sex with a ton of wit. Bash is The Magnificent Bastard. his emails/text with Penny have me rolling. insert **unicorn fart emoji** He's a well rounded character with tons of wit and charm. he's strong and sexy and guaranteed to turn anyone's head. and the best part, He's out to help women rebuild themselves after an ex shamed them. Penny in her text and emails is also full of wit, but in real life she is vulnerable to the things that's happened in the past, her shame has led her to hide for years. Now she's asking her boss, best friend for help and boy do things get juicy from there. after 2 years of conversations multiple times a day, they meet and the chemistry jumps off the page. the energy is explosive and you will not be able to put this one down.

Un-Put-Down-able!. Seriously. Could. Not. Put. It. Down. I was hooked right from the getgo. Bash and Penny are fantastic characters. The banter between the two is fabulous. And hot? Holy schnitzels, it was scorching! Throbbingly scorching. Panty disintegration scorching. Then there’s Aiden. The park. Cupping. Me on the floor laughing hysterically while my family calls for the men in the white coats to take me away. This is a Total Must-Read.

Crazy, sexy, cool. This was such a refreshing and funny story. It's rare that a romance novel is as funny as this book, without loosing the romantic and sexual feel. This author was perfect at creating funny, deep and refreshing characters who you could truly relate to. These are down to earth people like you and I. Not millionaires and other untouchables. I loved being able to really follow along with their lives, while both laughing out loud and being turned on, in the same page. Bash was an overly confident superman looking good guy, while Penny was a shy, beautiful woman hurt by those who should have had her back. Such a great book all the way through!

crying laughing!. Omg I cannot wipe the smile from my face after reading this. Now I admit, I am a loose woman (does apple censor these reviews?🤔) when it comes to free books on the App Store - I will download to my hearts content with little hope of them all being winners. But I digress - I was so so so happy I read this book. It kept my rolling for HOURS! And I will actually open my wallet and PAY ACTUAL DOLLARS to purchase the rest of Lili Valente's work - I enjoyed it that much! Seriously you can tell Lili must be so hilarious and it just pours into Bash and Penny. The story line is so funny and even though similar to one of those rom coms we love/hate out in the universe, I would read it again and again. The one liners, the character development. Omg YES! Lili if you read this, know that you are a QUEEN HONEYYYYY! You deserve for this to be made into a movie!!

Hilarious *and* sexy!. This was my first Lili Valente read, but I'll be keeping an eye out for future titles (especially Aidan's - give that guy a book!) The plot is well-paced; good dialogue in the present (almost all from the MMC's POV) and emails and texts between the MMC and FMC to fill in the past. I laughed to the point of side-eye from my husband at several points. The dialogue is witty, frequently bantering, but not overwhelming the character development that keeps things moving forward (even if that involves a step or two backwards at times). The conclusion is satisfying, although I thing both MC's glossed over the actual conflict rather fast. Minor quibbles on balance. Definitely rereadable :) An ARC was provided by the author through a newsletter giveaway.

I Loved this Book!!!. This may be my new favorite book by Lili Valente! When I first read the blurb for this book I was never expecting it to be as heartfelt and loving as it is. While the premise for the book is pretty original and done in a very tongue-in-cheek way, it is actually a very sweet and romantic love story. I think what I liked best about this book was that there wasn't a lot of angst and drama between Bash and Penny. They were both very upfront with their flirtation and didn't send each other mixed signals. It was obvious from the get-go that they had passion and chemistry and I loved that Bash wasn't ashamed to admit it. Sure they hit a slight bump in the road but what lovable couple doesn't. I would highly recommend this book and although it's a stand alone novel, I would love to see these two again in another book:)

Hot (and Hilarious) Revenge for Hire. Loved all of the insults that Bash spouted or thought about the jerk face and all the flirty comments back and forth. Great characters and intriguing plot. Fantastic and highly amusing book. Magnificent job! ;) Looking forward to reading more of this series.

Great fast read from other POV. Magnificent Bastard was a free download from a Facebook ad in my feed and was pleasantly surprised by the writing and plot. Some of the free downloads have terrible writing and plot but this one was quick and mindless which is what I love during busy time of summer. It is definitely not for the faint of heart with the graphic adult content and language however seeing through that there is a good story line that keeps you reading. A lot of these books are all the same now with subservient girl meets Uber rich man and they do dirty things to each other while messing with each other emotionally. This has a boss and assistant type relationship but you never get the whole subservient vibe that is all too common. They are best friends tethering the edge of something more realizing that feelings develop over time - with the same emotional head games that plague all of this genre. BUT if it wasn't there, I am sure we would quit reading them. I would definitely read this other and subsequent books in this series and would recommend for any reader that enjoys adult content romance type books.

I loved the text messages and emails between Penny and Bash, especially how it shows us the growth of Penny and Bash's relationship. The story was filled with hot sexy scenes as well as sweet, tender moments between two people who are learning to trust and live life again. Beautifully written Lili Valente.

Magnificent Bastard. First time reading this author. Have to say she had me from beginning to end of this different and fun story. While I am not opposed to hot sex scenes, and there were several, the language could have been less graphic and still hot. That would be my only complaint. I would and probably will look for other books by this author because she is a good writer.

Hot, Sexy, Funny, Heartwarming!!!. Who is more adorable than Bash and Penny.......NO ONE.......that's who. OMG Bash, I mean really, the best thing about him apart from being super fing hot and sexy is that he is FUNNY as hell and easy to talk to and very quick witted. I mean really any guy who likes farting emoji's is the guy for me ( I am just saying) and I dont even have enough time to tell you how much I heart Penny, sweet, easy going, relaxed, super cute for her own good Penny. I mean that girl has been thru some stuff and keeps the smile on. Ohhhhhhhh and this story is about more then just love, hot and steam and sometimes rough sex, its about ICE CREAM......hello people who does't like ICE CREAM. OMG this was a very refreshing story for me to read and it was well written and I just FLOVED it!!!!!!!!! I wish i could say more but I am afraid I might start spoiling it for everyone :) This is a must read if there ever was a must read before!!! Get it now

Righting Wrongs In The Name Of Love. Magnificent Bastard, by Lili Valente, is definitely one of the best books I've read. As soon as I started reading it, I was sucked in. The world around me ceased to exist, all I could see was this crazy, wonderful book in front of me. I enjoyed the story so much it became a part of me while I read it. When the characters experienced emotions, I felt them too. When they cried, I cried. When they laughed, I laughed. When they got angry, I got angry, etc. It takes a special kind of book to create that connection with a person and for me, Magnificent Bastard did just that.

Read it. Go ahead, read it! You won’t be sorry!

This is a laugh-out loud, sweet but raunchy, email-fueled, loving romance that still has me smiling… Told primarily from Sebastian “Bash” Prince’s point of view, as well as the email exchanges between himself and his assistant Penny Pickett, the story started with a laugh and had me smiling throughout. Bash provided a service for women who found themselves shafted in love. He was sinfully handsome and charming, eager to help those who found themselves at the losing end of the romance stick. With faithful Penny at his virtual side, they were righting the wrongs one pseudo hookup at a time. Never having met, their virtual friendship had them learning more about each other than even the “real” people in their lives. When Penny asks for help, they finally meet where the sparks that always flew between them caught, and burned…. Funny. So, so, so funny. The email exchanges between them caused me to laugh out loud more times than I can count. There may or may not have been a few choked snorts here and there as well. Bash and Penny seemed to be on the exact same wavelength when it came to their joint “Robin Hood”-like escapades and they were having a lot of fun along the way. Ice cream. Feet. Nail polish. Nothing was out of the norm between these two in a charming friends-to-lovers romance that was as much sweet and raunchy as it was fun. They laughed a lot but they had time to get serious when it came to love and loving. And that loving was emotional and hot, hot, hot… The climax threw a different flavour into the story that felt a little bit out of step but the rhythm was quickly found, with the ending being everything I hoped it would be. Made me laugh out loud… “Love isn’t a fairy tale, sweetheart; it’s war, and now you’ve got a soldier with an anti-a**hole missile on your side.” “If I hadn’t had sex in nearly three years, I would be trembling in a corner somewhere, jerking off and crying in a nest I’d fashioned from a stack of old Playboy magazines and my own tears.” “My c**k has been called magical in four different languages…” Oh, and I disagree with the sub-title. Bash is definitely a swoon-y Prince Charming… Five happy, happy stars! I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
