Phoebe West has been head-over-heels in love with her brother’s best friend for as long as she can remember.

Not that he’s bothered to notice.

Despite several mortifying attempts at seduction and a decade’s worth of unrequited pining, nothing Phoebe does seems to make any impact on the man she’s obsessed over since her bra-stuffing days.

Until she lands herself in life-threatening danger.

After years working in special forces and private security, Nathaniel “Nate” Knox may be the only man on the planet who can save Phoebe from the enemies closing in. But the deeper he pulls her into his circle of protection, the harder it is to deny the unexplored attraction between them. And if they cross that line dividing platonic friendship from passionate romance…

Phoebe’s heart will be in as much jeopardy as her life.

CROSS THE LINE is a comedic contemporary romance about a woman who can’t seem to walk away… and the man who’ll go to any length to keep her safe. It is the second installment of the internationally bestselling BOSTON LOVE STORY series and can be read as a complete standalone. Due to sparks flying, suspenseful moments, steamy scenes, and one sassy heroine, it is recommended to readers ages 17 and up.

Great book but not worth the price. I really enjoyed the love story of Nate and Phoebe. Was it worth the $5.99 it's priced at I would say no more like a $2.99. Still a good read though and Phoebe is hilarious. Just wished there was a little more details of their love scenes too.

Love this series. Another great read in this series!

Loved this. I read romances like they’re going out of style. This was a fresh take on the “forbidden love” plot. I absolutely fricking loved it. I read it in about 5 hours.

Cute read- no sex. I’d give this book 4 stars, except the overused terms like, “holy frack” and “crap on a bread/biscuit”, whichever carb of the day deemed essential. Same type of character development as most beach books. There are a couple of feely moments. If you’re used to advanced contemporary lusty novels- this is definitely not it.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I throughly enjoyed this book. I was browsing one day and came across it, and read it in one sitting. I was captivated by the story and felt the emotions portrayed and it was super funny. I recommend anyone who like a cute funny romance that keeps you on your toes to read this book!!

Get ready to laugh and swoon. Julie Johnson could write the phone book and I would be laughing before I even got to the B section! If you have previously read Not You It's Me (if not-one click it now!) then you already fell in love with Phoebe and were curious and attracted to Knox. Getting to know them better and seeing their love blossom was both touching and freaking hilarious. Throw in a demonic Pomeranian, the wonderful kooky cast of Not You It's Me, a vast designer stiletto collection and you have a book that will have you laughing out loud. Julie Johnson has the ability to create characters that you want to be friends with; they aren't perfect but they all accept each other's foibles and imperfections while being loyal and true to each other. I mean how do you not fall in love with someone who says "I only cut carbs when I'm using a pizza cutter" or "I did it, once. Woke up five hours later covered in glitter and full of regret (describing her one and only experience using Pinterest)" You can't not love her. She is not just a one dimensional funny character but is a woman who loves deeply and is warm and generous. When she says "maybe I'd rather live in the wreckage with you for a while than fake a fairly tale with someone else forever" you get a sense of her depth and loyalty which is so rare in today's society. Then there is Knox (Nate) who is total Alpha badass but surprising sweet and is a man who actually pays attention to all aspects of Phoebe's life and is super hot! I always hate giving away the plot in reviews so I will say that there is humour (duh, it's a Julie Johnson book), unrequited (or maybe not) love, action, family drama, and did I mention the scene stealing Pomeranian? Cross the Line is one of those books that you want to devour in one sitting yet you want to prolong it to keep you in the good mood it always bestows.

Missed reading

Five Fracking Stars!. Cross the Line by Julie Johnson I lovvvvvvvvvved this book so much and I just did not want it to end! It was fantastic and is the second standalone in a series that I'm already wanting to reread. We met these two interesting characters in Not You Its Me and Phoebe had me intrigued right from the get-go. My God, she is hilarious. Her thought process had me laughing throughout this book and I loved it. While we don't get to completely know Knox, he's a damn likable character! You know, your typical alpha; a man of few words, overprotective, loves hard. And so sexy *swoon* and let's be honest, who doesn't want a man who has a big gun and knows how to use it, too?? As I said, there was lots of humor in this book and it was a perfect contrast for the elements of suspense. I loved that it was a bit of a forbidden romance in that Knox is Phoebe's older brothers best friend. I just loved everything. I want this series to continue and I'm not above begging the author to write a story for a few other characters. Great series, fantastic book, and one I highly recommend. **Reviewed by Melinda from Jo&IsaLoveBooks Blog

Couldnt put it down. Awesome book, loved every minute! Great characters and storyline

Gamelover7770

Definitely recommend. While I might have liked things to move a little faster in the beginning, this was a great book. Quality romance with a protective, alpha hero and a strong, sassy heroine. Written well with a good story line and none of that silly, unnecessary drama. Overall, a good book. 👍🏼

Shooshhhh

Love it. Omg I didn't want this book to end. I love Nate and Phoebe! The whole book was enjoyable to read. Now off to Parker's story.

Worth it to cross the line. This author fast becoming one of my favourites. Great wit and real writing makes you feel like you know the characters. Great job!

Kellsum84

Cross the line. Not as good as Chase and Gemma's story. I did like it though. I thought there could have been more ending to it.

SiggyBookworm

Great characters. The characters in the story jump off the page - rich and complex. Thanks for a great read!

Ayane_03

Expensive and childish. Had high hopes for this book but the writing is all over the place, just like the characters. The main female character is childish and not very convincing and the friends are as well. The plot is fast paced and annoyingly predictable. The main male character is what you'd expect but still something is missing. He was made to be one way but his actions are another. Waste of my money!

Smiggle.

Brilliant. My favourite book
