So annoyed no nickname works

Needs proofreading. Good read. However, not sure anyone took a second of their time to proofread before printing.. characters names were messed up. Grammar was off the entire book. And one paragraph was printed three times in a row.

Blackfur1009

Book mama. Awful! Don't waste your time. Tremendous typos and poorly written.

Maamc

Interesting concept. This writer has good instincts but needs time and experience to round out writing skills. Will continue to read and watch the progress.

Weatherwatcher33

Invitation to murder. This is a horribly written book. I got about a third of the way through and quit. On top of editorial errors (transposing characters "Tina" and "Tracey") the constant use of the lead characters name was all too annoying. I gave up. Maybe the story would turn out to be interesting but the author needs to take a refresher course in how to put her story on a page. And for gosh sakes get a proof reader.

Getlt

Invitation To Die. Nice steady read!!!!

Rxnjsquir

Author needs several writing courses. If someone is editing and proofing this work they should be fired. Grammar, syntax, and continuity are in need of a redo. The characters are insipid and one dimensional. The author stops the story to describe the clothing of the main character which adds nothing, and the vocabulary is limited and repetitive. The plot is predictable and the killer is apparent from the moment he appears in the early story for no apparent reason and with no smooth transition into the story line. This seems like the pretentious ramblings of a person with an exaggerated sense of her own worth bragging and posturing in front of mirror to the only person who is impressed. I hope the author's insight is better with a patient or progress, if any, will be minimal. It could be at least 100 pages shorter with no loss to the reader.

Invitation To Die. This was a thrill to read... many twists and turns... I only have a few suggestions... proofread before releasing a book.. I found many mistakes and repeated pages... but other then that this was a great read..can’t wait to start the next one.

Invitation To Die (The Killing Game-Book #1). I really enjoyed this book. I have never read anything by this author before but she is now going on my must read list! Very well written, held my interest and I couldn’t wait to see how it ended!!

IPMPH

The killing game. Book 1. Not only does this author know how to keep you turning pages but also can keep you guessing and looking into the characters to try and solve the mystery. A good author I recommend. I look forward to reading the next in this series

Zephyr Texans

Mediocre at best. This book is full of double punctuation, double words, missing words, and random extra letters in a sentence among other typographical errors. Additionally, the main character is completely unbelievable. An FBI profiler who discusses the case and asks advice from a total stranger and pursuing potential suspects without back up? Just not impressed at all.

KatieMoss7

It was free so. It wasn’t my favorite book, and let me fell you I’ll read about any book, but I just didn’t like it that much. I see all these complaints about the writing but you do have to realize this is free of charge so there not a multi million dollar good company.

Grammiebud

Darn good book!. Good enough that I coughed up $$ for the next one. Generally, I stick with free books, 99cent books, or books from the library. Weird character twist that I didn't expect!

Tenderloin56

Invitation To Die. This book could use some proofreading, but wonderful characters, depth and plot - without too much violence.

Smack004

Obvious. The one thing that was obvious from the very beginning is that Tracy is a narcissist. Additionally, the author struggles with both believable dialog and vocabulary. Perhaps she should invest in a thesaurus. Or another profession. The multiple personality claim at the end of the book had me rolling my eyes along with all of the underdeveloped characters in the story. Even though this book is free the time you spend suffering through it is too high a price.

Phantom Reader

Storyline held promise, but characters lacking. The premise of the story held a lot of promise. Unfortunately, unrealistic dialogues and forced conflicts between characters sent the story in a lame direction. Also, the way in which the law enforcement characters acted was way below how professionals - especially FBI - would handle an investigation. Lastly, editing is needed.

Joying B

The plot was good but the grammar..... The story drew me in quickly, but the grammar mistakes were hard to get past. The author mixes up character names and some of the sentences don’t make sense. It’s as if no one proof read before publishing. A mistake here or there is ok, I get it the author is human, but it happens constantly through out the book. In the end, the mistakes made it very frustrating to read.

Ppagnt

Invitation to die. Major grammatical errors and spelling errors! Not to mention mixing up character names. These mistakes made book hard to follow at times. The plot was clearly written by an amateur and did not read easily as there was not a consistent flow. My advice skip this read as I struggled to get thru it but y frustration just encouraged me to write this review. A definite must not read!

Rocketman1300

Good and bad. I must say that I thought the story line was rather good. However, the writing was rather bad. Bad in the sense that it was very repetitive and amateurish. In dealing with conversations between characters the descriptions of their moods or feelings were very unnatural. For example the interaction between the heroine of the story, Tracy, and her fiancé, Wess, was unbelievable. Tracy was supposed to be this strong woman. As such, she would never have put up with a sniveling man. And the character, Hunter, seemed to need a much stronger role to the story. Just my opinion mind you. Read it for yourself and make up your own mind.

Catlvr49

Invitation To Die. Easy to read mystery.

Bmm25

Predictable. This novel was too predictable and almost hard to read due to the excessive grammatical and spelling errors. The descriptions were so simplistic and redundant. The dialogue was also over simplified and the police offered absolutely no insight, they're comments were just awkward and unrealistic. I don't think enough research was put into the concept of the book to develop a crime situation that wasn't obvious to anyone who has every seen CSI. Potential to be a great story, just poorly executed.

(Sayitlikeitis)

Interesting but hard to get through. OMG! What everyone said. Mixed up names, grammatical errors, typos... Not to mention over use of the same words and phrases. The book reads like an observation report. It over explains things, insulting the intelligence of the reader. I feel this is insecurity on the writer's part, being too afraid her meaning would not get across. The idea is a good one. The delivery needs work. I have wanted to walk away many times, but I'm a sucker for starting a story and needing to know the ending. I've watched many a terrible movies this way. The author can definitely benefit from getting a better editor. Someone who can give the same feedback as what the other reviewers are saying.

RaKa573

Decent read but.... I don't typically write reviews but felt this one needed one. If the timeframe for this was set back 40 years some things may be more believable. I did like the story, but the dumb-downing of the intelligence of the police is a little insulting. There was a lot of punctuation errors that made it difficult to read at times and one section that was a complete repeat of the one before it. Whoever did the proof reading should find another job. This wasn't a nail biter but filled time on a snowy weekend.

Misshollye

Invitation to Die. I didn’t like this book. The plot was too see through, the characters were unbelievable, and the writing was tedious, with way too many details repeated too often about profiling.

Issy's MomMom

Repetition makes a hard read. Just finished chapter 3. Overuse of character's first name and repetition--"important" was used over a dozen times already--make it difficult to stay focused on the story.

SpunkieMe

Interesting. This book was difficult to put down once I started reading. I had wished at the end, that the main character had decided to stay ..... Anyway, many times in the book, names were mixed up. Need better editor, proofreading skills needed. Otherwise, I liked the book.

Dodiecoker

Stunning , page turning. I kept trying to guess the killer and was moved every time Tracy found another clue and surprised about Hunters feelings . A do not put down read 😄

Mematmoore

Interesting. Kept me interest but someone needs to proof read this book. Sometime the author wrote Tina when she meant Tracy. Some of the sentences had double words in them.

GrCindy20

Invitation to Die. I'm pretty sure that Julian Starr And Jaden Skye are one in the same. The writing style is pretty much the same. The overall theme of the books can't be missed. The similarities of the heroine in each book by both authors is undeniable. Even down to the way she dresses and her preferences in general. The struggle with her significant other is very parallel. Just to much repetition to be interesting. And the one thing that is very consistent is the very poor editing of every book I've read by these authors. I just kept thinking after all of the references to it in the reviews it would be corrected. It is very distracting and so unprofessional. I'm giving up on both of these series. It's just not worth the money spent.

Cranjoy

The killing game. This was a very good reader. I liked the way it kept the suspense going up to the end and the way it kept my interest all the way through.

Jrjewelz

Elementary Writing, Inconsistencies, Moments of Interest. This book had all the makings of a great read. The plot, characters etc... all had potential. There were even times when it did get exciting. It was hard to fully grasp the characters personalities. (I understand the killers) It seemed scattered at times. The grammar and misspellings were irritating.

Ripha121

Invitation to die. This is the most boring and uninteresting book I have ever read. So many grammatical mistakes, wrongful punctuations and full of unnecessary repetitions and details. I actually had to skip reading some of these unnecessary details as I read. To write a very captivating crime story, I think you need to do an intensive research and know much about how the FBI operates. Also, I don’t think such a smart girl should be dating such a naive, possessive and insecure boyfriend. This book exposes the amateurism of the writer. Even the romantic aspect the writer wanted to portray could not be felt. With a good research, editing and proofreading, this book could have been written 100 pages less and would have made a good read.

Invatation t kil

Invitation to kill. Extremely bland and very poor editing. There were so many grammar and spelling errors by 100 pages I quit reading it. I wrote more detailed 100 page essays with better writing in grade 7 this is atrocious

Iliketoreadbooksinhammocks

Not worth it. The poor editing killed me. I'm currently reading and have found many mistakes with spelling as well as mixing up characters names! Who edited this novel!!??

Icebergs123

A Failed Attempt. I picked up this book for two reasons, it was free and the subject matter is appealing. I am a die hard fan of Criminal Minds so the combo of serial killer and BAU got my adrenaline going. Unfortunately, the profiling is more elaborate and detailed in an one hour TV show than it is in this book. Although the plot is weak, it does have a nice twist at the end. My biggest complaint is that the book seems to be written by a Grade 9 student with very limited vocabulary and practically no skill in character development . The characters are all as flat as cardboard and their dialogues come right out from a B movie, so cliched and childish that I do not know if I should laugh or cry.

Fenwayfil

Invitation To Die. Amatureish, not believable. Part Haelequin Romance, part Nancy Drew. Very disappointing!

Neo784

Plot ok too bad about the proofreading. Easy read that does just enough to keep you turning the pages. Terribly proof read however, the staggering amount of errors makes me glad this book was a free download.

Tivoli talkies

Invitation to die. A load of rubbish, since when does an fbi profiler confide details to some one out of the blue??

Jaydersz

Good read. Needs an edit.. The book was a nice easy read. Entertaining. However, it needs a thorough editing. Grammar. Punctuation. Name confusion. Etc.

Chazzamahyar

Good. I began reading this on my travels round South Asia and soon became hooked. The story is brilliant and the book well written (aside from a few errors that could be fixed with editing). I think everyone's been a little too harsh ! I've downloaded all three of Julian's stories ! Hope there is more

Phillir78

Disappointing. The killer is and the link is obvious and there are no twists.

CruellaDeVil666

Invitation To Die. Sadly I gave up about a third through the book. Too naive and too many irritating errors with unbelievable characters. The author's style of almost bludgeoning one with what she believes is most off putting. Needs serious editing.

Kicker bits

Invitation to Die. A book I would recommend for a teenage fan of silly thrillers poorly written, the BAU are profilers why bring in more when you’ve got an office full. I like heroines as much as the next guy, but I can’t stand arrogant ones who thinks only she can solve the case. The writer gives the impression of not having properly checked facts on FBI protocol. Quite a few repeated passages and sentences hence had printing, does nobody proof read manuscripts before going to print anymore. All in all a very simple read ,transparent plot it was obvious who the killer was the moment he was introduced. Don’t think I’ll bother with anymore

Bag lady 11

Invitation to die. This is quite an interesting read, would recommend it.

Donkey drop

Sorry not my cup of tea. This book was slow I couldn’t get into it

Verity LaCroix

Meh. I found this book predictable, maybe I just read too much of the genre. I personally did not like the main character, she maybe good at her job but when it comes to her relationship with her boyfriend she didn't even attempt to try understand how he was feeling, just how it affected her. I know she was working on a high profile case but still some empathy for him would have been nice.

Ladarcy

Invitation to Die. It is supposed to be about an FBI profiler, but bears little comparison to Criminal Minds, however some interesting characters emerge in the course of the investigation. A bit shocked that the author refers to the heroine having worked at the hospital for the "criminally insane" although their use of other psychiatric terminology seemed accurate. A good story, a good plot but style of writing too naive/old fashioned for my taste.

Weuphl

Poor, ludicrous and full of plot/procedural 'eh'? Moments.. Oh dear. The lead heroine is crushingly enthusiastic. The FBI can't stop telling her how terrific she is, but sack her any way. And she goes where police fear to tread. But it's OK, a long bath and a linen dress will out the worlds to rights..... Kay Scarpetta she is not.

Janeygrenade

Irritating!. I always finish a book even if I am not enjoying it and I just couldn't I was sick to the back teeth of Tracey couldn't stand the character or how the author constantly complimented her get on with the actual story of which there was very little!
