The Boss

The Boss by Lexy Timms Book Summary

From USA TODAY Bestselling Author, Lexy Timms, comes a billionaire romance that'll crank up the heat and have you falling in love all over again.

Jamie Connors has given up on finding a man. Despite being smart, pretty, and just slightly overweight, she's a magnet for the kind of guys that don't stay around.

Her sister's wedding is at the foreground of the family's attention. Jamie would be fine with it if her sister wasn't pressuring her to lose weight so she'll fit in the maid of honor dress, her mother would get off her case and her ex-boyfriend wasn't about to become her brother-in-law.

Determined to step out on her own, she accepts a PA position from billionaire Alex Reid. The job includes an apartment on his property and gets her out of living in her parent's basement.

Jamie has to balance her life and somehow figure out how to manage her billionaire boss, without falling in love with him.

** The Boss is book 1 in the Managing the Bosses series. All your questions won't be answered in the first book. It may end on a cliff hanger.

I had high hopes for this, but for some reason this book lacks maturity. Perhaps this is targeted towards a young audience because the characters behave in a juvenile way . Especially the boss who’s supposed to be a super serious CEO

why I can't the read the book? because my country poor?

This could have been a story if the author had bothered to complete this novel. However, as it is published the author just suddenly stopped the book. The characters could be interesting if she developed them and the back story.

Great characters

Loved, loved the book. But I like all your books I’ve read. Like a good love story you’ve got to read Lexy Timms books you will be hooked!

Definitely a page turner that keeps your interest. Great characters in this e-book. One to add to your reading lists.

This is the second time I've tried to read a Lexy Timms book, and it's the second time I've been utterly disappointed. During the beginning of the book I was excited to see the progression of the story and the characters, but Lexy falls flat of my expectations once again. There is little to no character development for Alex, who is a main character. The story builds up nicely for a chapter or two and then rambles on to climax into.... Nothing. Nothing happens in this book. I'm not sure why this author gets such high ratings.

This is an outstanding books/series. I’ve read them all. Lexy keep them coming.❤️

Read the reviews before reading. Cute beginning tho. Characters could be better developed.

Short story that goes nowhere slowly and painfully. Blah, wouldn’t recommend at all

Put me to sleep

It annoys me to no end when I buy a book that says it has a certain number of pages, and I find out 1/3 of that number is a teaser for another book. Also, it ends abruptly. It continues in another book, I’m presuming. The story just dropped off a cliff. WTH?

What type of ending was that first of all!? Obviously they’re just trying to hook readers into half of the story just so that they’ll buy 3 more books. You really could’ve made this into one book. Also, the main character and her family is completely unrealistic. It could’ve been a really great book but I won’t be reading any further.

Great book.

A good read.

Captures you from the begining and leaves you wanting more.

is the main character so obsessed with weight? She judges every woman she meets by their size, and half the book is spent talking about food. It's irritating. And for the record, a size 12 IS large unless you're over 5'9".

This was a great quick read. Looking forward for to the follow-up

I can't stand it when a book doesn't end!! Why split it up?? Just write one big book and be done!

351 pages and you have to buy the next 4 books to know how the ending come out. All in all good book.

My main critique would be that the author didn't really give the character of Alex any personality. It wasn't terrible, but I don't think I will be reading the second book in the series.

This is the most infuriating, unrealistic book. The plot stinks. If your sister took your boyfriend, would you really be such a doormat? I couldn't even make myself finish it.

I couldnt stop reading! Too bad I have to wait one more month until part 3 comes out... The story is just full of passion and makes you want to have an Alex in your life lol

Love that crazy family that Jamie thought of as normal. I hope they wake up though for book two..

Jamie Connors meets Alex Reid at a restaurant where her ex-boyfriend is celebrating being engaged to her sister. She is recommended to him as a woman who is not distracting, who is overweight. Her family treats her like a fat Cinderella. She needs the job so she can move out of her parent's basement. Alex offers her the job right away. She comes highly recommended by her previous employers. She is also overwhelmed with planning the wedding for her sister who is a lazy, spoiled brat. She is also marrying Jamie's ex. Even when she asks her family to join her for her birthday dinner - they do not remember what day it is. She has to pay. The discussion at the table is only on her sister's wedding and not on her birthday. What kind of family does that? Such an incredibly moving story. I wanted to reach through the book and kill the sister and ex-boyfriend. This book definitely moves the reader to feel things. All kinds of things. On the other hand, it has great characters and an amazing plot. I do not want to give it all away. I will say as book one in the new Managing the Bosses series, it was a definite BANG! I loved all of it and cannot wait for the next book! ***This ARC copy was given from the author for review purposes only.

Such a good book to read! Honestly loved this! Was in laughter, tears of happiness & was super hooked by the end I bought all the rest of the books haha!

Great, quick and easy romance to read. Love that the characters continue on throughout the series.

The book is amazing. It's exactly everything that I normally read but even better. It hooks you in even though there is a cliff hanger at the end. You wanna continue reading!!!

I don’t get the hype about this book, Jamie is just a poor poor character without any development, without any voice. I mean I get your family is man to you but please speak up, don’t be slapped in the faces and give the other side to be slapped as well. Alex is like in a second yes I want and in the second second I’m sorry omg so many cliches and the book is so terrible, I’m so sorry I even read this…

I really enjoyed it but I wish it ended after we had more info on what was gna happen at the wedding after the story had developed a bit more I think there’s other books but still. Either way I enjoyed it it was good it was relatable too from a girls pov

Love it

It's a good quick read, it's is short, very fast pace but I like the characters the story is simple will get the next book to tie the lose ending

I did enjoy this book. Didn't realise how short it was though. Read it in one evening. Would have loved it to have been longer and see where the story could have gone from there.

Very much enjoyed the book but just as it was getting good it ended...way too short in my opinion!

Chapters aren't in order, on top of that its not even the right book!! Sort it out
