Pleasant, but ultimately boring. This is a nice story about nice people ambling along to their happy ending. Julia Quinn is capable of better wit and creating more interest. There was never any doubt how this story would end. It's a blandly innocuous tale with little drama.

Because of Miss Bridgerton. I never miss a Julia Quinn book. One of the best historical romance writers ever. Intrigue, romance, and a whole lot of fun.

Good but some inconsistencies.. I read the story about Billie's parents but their personalities in this book don't match with their own story. Yes, they've aged but not so much that Lady Bridgerton turns into a ninny and Lord Bridgerton a doddering old fool. Would have been nice to have some continuity. But other than that a good story.

Save your money. I'm not sure I can even finish this book. 150 pages in and there is no storyline thus far, the writing is banal, and what constitutes as banter between the characters consists mostly of them telling each other to "shut up" (very 18th century). Contrary to the synopsis, there's nothing Downton Abbey-esque about this story.

Terrific Read. Julia Quinn has proven herself to be a truly inspired and creative writer. This book was entertaining and downright fun to read! I love the Bridgerton family!

If this is a Bridgerton novel, where are the Bridgertons???. I really wanted to love this book, but was very disappointed: With 'Bridgerton' in the title, one assumes it's connected yet the only reference to the beloved series is that the heroine's last name is Bridgerton! Her parents are referenced as Lord and Lady Bridgerton -- had assumed they were Andrew and Kate, but no reference to them or any of the other Bridgertons we know and love from Julia Quinn's previous novels. Blah!

Well done. Another great series from JQ that includes members of our favorite family. I loved Billie and how “uncommon”she was!

Loved it. Julia Quinn did it again writing a book that was amazing and wonderful and a fan of her beloved Bridgertons will love this!!!! Couldn't put it down!!!!

There is 1 on page sex scene. Billie is a tomboy, and George is all about doing the proper thing. They've known each other their whole lives. After George has to save Billie, they keep getting thrown together. As they spend more time together, they soon appreciate things about each other they didn't before. This is such a fun historical read. I love how Billie is not your conventional lady, and I love how her mother allows her to live authentically in their town. There is 1 on page sex scene.

fun conversations and situations. This was a pretty fun read. The female lead is very outgoing for her time. She's not great at being girly and doing girl things. The male lead has been her friend since they were kids. Finally something clicks for them. It has amusing dialogue and entertaining scenes. Since this is connected to Bridgertons series, I think readers of that series will be more involved in the storyline. I have not read it so I didn't recognize all the characters, but that didn't distract me from liking the book.

Wonderful Wonderful!. Highly enjoyable telling of the interaction between the main characters - childhood frenemies who suddenly discovered new feelings for each other. The writing exudes warmth, fun and love. Love it.

LOVED IT!!. I loved this book! After waiting for it, counting down the days, rereading the snippets provided, I was not at all disappointed with Julia Quinn's latest. A good read - won't disappoint.
