Amazing!. BEFORE is an amazing book. Anna knew exactly how to make the story even better, giving voice to some of the caracthers that we didnt had the chance to hear. Past, "present" and future, diferente of some books out there, adding things to the main story. Its not boring or repetitive like some books out there!

Each book is more amazing than the last.. I love these books with my whole heart. Truly it’s hard to pick a favorite from this series, but Before might just take the cake. Thank you Anna Todd!

It was okay. Not my favorite book out of the series. I felt like it was messy and a bit confusing. It was a let down honestly bc every time I thought the book was going to hit on key parts it just went to a different section of ‘After’. Weirdly written. But I still enjoyed hearing Hardins POV

Eh.. Not really a before. The beginning of the book was interesting and then, not so much. It felt disjointed and kind of tacked together. It should have been named “Extra”. Like here’s some extra stuff that I didn’t really know how to fit in the other books.

My heart. This series is by far one of the greatest things I have ever lost sleep for.

Amazing. This book was way more than I ever could have expected. Before isn't just a retelling of the first After book in Hardins point of view. It's so much more. It will take you on an emotional roller coaster, but it's totally worth it. I'm sad that the series is complete but it's been a fun journey and I can't wait to see what Anna comes up with next (:

I would have liked to read about Tessa and Hardin fairy tale wedding!. I wanted to read about Tessa and Hardin’s beautiful wedding with their family present.

After series. This was a turbulent ride. I was captivated by this couple and read the whole series in two weeks! I adore this love story!

I haven’t got the book yet. I haven’t got the book yet I’m curious wether it’s starting off from the end of After or if it’s s different book in different pov’s of the same characters as After. Honestly I think I’ll only get it, if it starts from the end of After.

Differences than others books. I’m only a quarter of the way through, but there are some big differences in this book than how things played out in the other books. It’s confusing to follow because you’re trying to make it fit the first book(s).

Omg. This is such a great book. It gets me to understand more about the characters and their stories. Now I feel bad for hating molly.

Very Disappointing. This book leaves many questions unanswered that you would expect with Harden’s POV during After and insight in other side character’s histories. In addition, this book is internationally inconsistent and inconsistent with After in ways that are just lazy editing. The Hardin POV chapters spend far to much time on the obvious, even going so far as to have him think something before he paraphrases the exact same thought - making it so that the scene from Hardin’s perspective adds nothing to what we know from After. This book is absurdly short, yet still the same price as all of the other books in the series. The author needs to provide an automatically updated version that is more consistent and covers key moments from Harden’s POV. Key missing scenes: SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN’T READ AFTER. Morning after destroying his dad’s house, his discussions about Tessa and his progress on the bet with his friends, Blind Bob’s (was that planned?), 3rd party (w/ Zed kiss & ‘I love you’), fake drunk on vodka plan, before and after the bonfire, second Tessa, Noah, Hardin confrontation, him proving he won the bet (and whatever led up to that), and just many other scenes between Hardin denying his feelings for Tessa and being obsessively in love with her.

Why?. After over 50 bucks I’m asking myself why? I suppose it’s like having to look at a terrible car accident. Now I have to find a book that justifies my ability to read.

Dragging. Meh. This is from Hardin’s view and other character’s backstories. I don’t think it helped. It’s taking me a while to try to finish this, unlike the other books where I read them quickly because I couldn’t stop reading. I regret purchasing this book.

Into the Night Reviews ... Before by Anna Todd. I read Before having not read any of the other books in the ‘After’ series by Anna Todd, and was a little worried it was going to impact my enjoyment of the book. I’m happy to say it didn’t, and I’m keen to pick up the rest of the series now. Before tells the story of how Hardin and Tessa first met, and provides the background to their tumultuous relationship. Hardin is the ‘bad boy’ – I’m reluctant to describe him as a ‘typical’ bad boy because it felt like there was more to him. Intelligent, angry, rebellious, and yet despite that Tessa manages to catch his interest. Nothing like the other dalliances he has had, Tessa is the ‘good girl’, she screams innocence and even so finds herself drawn to Hardin like a moth to a flame. Before is brilliantly written. The characters are well developed and like I said, the story engaged me to the extent that I will go and read the rest of this series. Hardin grapples with his attraction to Tessa, what starts out as a cruel game becomes so much more for him and he soon realises that he risks losing the one thing that is actually starting to mean something to him. Before is told from Hardin’s point of view and many of the chapters start with a paragraph or two written in the third person. I really liked the greater insight these gave to Hardin’s character. It wasn’t a quick read for me, while it was easy to read, there is a complexity about the story and I didn’t want to rush the experience. I found myself putting it down and then pondering what would happen next between Hardin and Tessa before coming back to the story. If you’ve read the ‘After’ series then I would expect you would need no encouragement to pick up Before. For those of you new to the series, it may be best to start with book #1 ‘After’, but you can definitely read Before without having read the series and still thoroughly enjoy this introduction to #HESSA.

Hard Read. Love this series but this booked Jumped around to much for me. I felt this constant confusion on where I was up to and why there were random chapters about characters that seemed out of place…

Something gone wrong?. Having read the previous books, I think something has gone wrong with the book. It is good up until chapter 20 and then is all over the place after that , 21 is back and forth, it looks like things have been cut and pasted in the wrong part of the story, and has also missed a lot of the story. Therefore when it gets to other parts further in the book, they don't make sense. I like the originals though

Another poorly written novel. Another pointless novel no one needed. It’s essentially a book full of character motivations for why they are such terrible people.

Great read. After devouring the first 4 books in this series last year, I was so excited to read book 5, Before. Getting inside Hardin’s head and seeing his thought process was everything and more. Initially I thought, how could this ever change my point of view? How is this any different from what we've previously read in the first 4 books? I was pleasantly surprise because this book gave me so much more that I expected Getting Hardin’s most inner dialogue was heart breaking. You can see the turmoil that he faces within himself, the self sabotage, the hatred. His want to be a better person for Tessa and for himself. I felt like I needed the small reminders that were within the pages to help me remember minor things that made such a huge impact to their story. Getting to read about Hardin’s past also helped me get a better understanding of how he became who he was when he first met Tessa and why he continued to punish himself. The last 10% of the book has to be my favorite. Getting a chapter from some of the most vital characters and where they were at in their lives. I love love love hearing about side characters. My only disappointment was the I wanted more from Steph and Molly’s POV. They played such a pivotal part in the first 4 books. I was secretly hoping that Steph might have come to her senses and redeemed herself. Oh well there is always the future, and while Anna keeps on writing, I’ll keep on reading.

Enjoyed this book. I loved this book, just not as much as the other 4, I felt it was a little jumpy in places and continued the narrative of the ending of after ever happy. Where it hopped through their life. I was expecting it to have actually took us onto Tessa and Hardins life where they welcomed their children and maybe touched on her fertility issues etc. I was disappointed it’s not written that way. Once I started this book I have to be honest i found it difficult to get past the girls at the beginning as I didn’t see the relevance of their perspectives really. I just wanted to read Hardin’s perspective, I feel in love with him throughout the first 4 I found it fascinating to read what the events of the story played out. Makes his anger and behaviour more understandable was a good read once I got it going.

Amazing. I must admit I didn’t know that there was a series of books until I watched the second film. I brought After we fell, After ever happy and Before and isolated myself away from my partner and two children and indulged into the remaining books. I can’t tell you for the life of me how many times I thought, oh yeah this is definitely going to happen, this book is going end this way. Let me tell you, whatever your thinking about any of the books, don’t. I couldn’t have guessed or assumed that’d I’d be able to crack the ending before I read the final pages. I was shocked and so surprised at how many twists and turns Anna cane up with for Tessa and Hardins characters. I found myself feeling every emotion I could think of while I read the remaining books, I got butterflies, I had tears, I was mad, I was happy. I am generally sad that I have finished the series. I find myself completely and utterly obsessed with this story line I feel as if I need to know more about what Tessa and Hardin are up to now. It seems silly, but read the books and I promise you you’ll be feeling the same way too. Fantastic.
